Do you want to have the chance to live in any of the Black Themed Housing in Arroyo Vista (AV) for the 2024-2025 academic year? The AV themed housing options are:

• Academic Excellence Black Scholars House (AEBS)
• George Washington Carver House
• Ele Si Rosa Parks - African American Studies

Requirements below to meet in order to be considered to live in GWC or ROSA in AV:

• submit a UCI Housing application, regardless of your specific housing preference by the deadline via the Housing Gateway at 7 am on January 17, 2024. The UCI Housing application window will close at 12 pm (noon) on January 22nd

NOTE: Between submitting your housing application and housing personal interest (PI) form, it's critical that you pay attention to your UCI email and respond in a timely manner to the contract offers. Students have to accept it at the time that it's sent out and if there is no response, it indicates that they are declining the offer and UCI Housing staff will move to make offers to other students.

NOTE: The Center for Black Cultures does not offer housing contracts, ONLY UCI Housing. This is an interest form for us to gauge how many students want to live in the houses and we provide the list to housing to see who meets the requirements as a continuing guaranteed student verses continuing non-guaranteed student.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE FOR GUARANTEED HOUSING?

• Freshman and Transfer students who live on-campus for the entire 2023-24 academic year (guaranteed housing for 2 years)
• Members of the Campuswide Honors Collegium; Regents and Chancellors Excellence Scholars and Director’s Scholarship recipients
• Students registered as FYRE Scholars

To receive a guaranteed housing offer, you must submit a UCI Housing application, regardless of your specific housing preferences. Do not skip this step or you will forfeit your housing guarantee.

Not eligible for guaranteed housing? Housing waitlist information. There are no guarantees for students who are not officially guaranteed for next year. For students who are do not have a housing guarantee for next year, you should look for other housing opportunities concurrently to ensure housing security for yourself, but also can join the UCI Housing waitlists when they open in April 15, 2024 at 7 AM.
