I hope you keep the 3 on the tree, when growing up they were dissed, but alot of us got good at speed shifting them,

That looks nice!!
Re: my 67 D100 Shorty
It looks like a nice truck, but like you I also have to wonder what the person was thinking when he painted the top that color. What's your plans for it? If you aren't going to paint the whole truck anytime soon you could always just paint the top white, or some other color that matches the green.

Yeah I'll be painting the top white asap. The gold is heinous!

Re: my 67 D100 Shorty
you decide to keep the tree shifter let me know. i can tell you how to rebuild it easy to work good as new. when they are shimmed properly, you can speed shift them
good looking truck, looks like you got a good head start buying a solid truck to start with. i would for sure break out the gloss white spray bomb on that top.

Re: my 67 D100 Shorty
I have the 70 with the /6 and Super Six intake and 2 barrell, it has a NP435 with 3:55 gears, the 65 also has the /6 with NP435 and 3:91 gears, 1st is almost too low, so I've considered putting one of the 3:23's in the 65, in an effort to make 1st a more usable gear, just thoughts I need to stop thinking like this and just leave it alone, What gears do you have in the rear??teamblend wrote:Yeah I'll be painting the top white asap. Looks like a real clean truck. I like the Ferd too. If I weren't born into Sweptlines, I'd be into those early 60 to early 70's Ferds. Don't give up on the column shift just yet. They can be alot of fun, and it could prevent theft. I mean, how many crooks know how to use them anyway?

Re: my 67 D100 Shorty
Got to be one of the ugliest colors I've seen these trucks, good thing it's easy to change.
Congrats on the new truck!

$1500? Great deal! And you can almost double the value with a $3 can of white spray paint
Seriously, nice truck, the green is cool. Have fun with it.

Re: my 67 D100 Shorty
Heres what the "hot" looking wheels look like right now
the rust color almost matches the top!
back
front (its up on jackstands on the front - hence the crazy wheel well!)
started cleaning - wire wheeling the dog dishes.. need to hit it with some silver paint, or polishing compound.. i cant decide..
started cleaning the wheels - hit this wheel with a wire wheel, then the wheel and dish with aircraft coat remover
next came some primer- tires are gonna go! so i didnt care about overspray..
im kinda diggin the army green... i ordered some rustoleum canvas white online... 6 cans for 40 bucks shipped. ill hit the wheels and front bumper with those when it comes in! might even spraybomb the top of the cab if the color is nice!
and a motor shot
heres two random stickers that are still on the front window.. kinda neat, ill leave em on as long as theyll stay! theyre on the bottom corner on the passenger side, and are pretty small.. about the size of a business card. you can make em out in the pics from the first post.

Nice truck. Looks stock right down to the wheels and hubcaps.
Like others.... I'd say that gold top needs to disappear soon
You did very well for the money you paid for it.

Re: my 67 D100 Shorty
If I might offer an unsolicited opinion, try polishing that hubcap first. If you don't like it, just scuff it up and then prime/paint em. nice truck.
