Join the Friends of the Library for their monthly book sale with proceeds benefiting the Sherman Oaks Branch Library, located at 14245 Moorpark St.

There is a pre-sale for members of the Sherman Oaks Friends of the Library on the Friday before the monthly sale from 3:30-5 p.m. If you are not a member you may join at the door and be admitted to the sale.

Select from a large assortment of quality children's books (picture books, chapter, and young adult), fiction, non-fiction, cookbooks, education, graphic novels, classics, poetry, plays, art books, CDs and DVDs. Most books are $1 or less.

Children's books (picture, chapter, and young adult) and educational materials are 50% off for all teachers with ID.

The branch generally takes donations up until the Wednesday before the sale during business hours, but be sure to contact (818) 205-9716 prior to dropping off your donations. Thank you for your generous support.

Join a “Friends” group. There is a “Friends of the Library” group for most branch libraries and departments of the Central Library. Friends groups raise money for improvements to their library through memberships, used book sales and other activities. For more information click here or talk to your local librarian.

Join the Library Foundation of Los Angeles. The Library Foundation is a non-profit organization that raises funds for Library enhancement programs such as adult and early literacy, children and teen reading clubs, technology, and cultural programs.
