Since the election, the word "Sanctuary" has been a mobilizing force for thousands of people moved with renewed or newfound urgency for immigrant justice. We are so humbled by the outpouring of support and energy for our faith based organizing. After many requests for training locally, statewide and nationally  we have decided to put together a training for faith leaders. We are so excited to share lessons and best practices that we have been able to learn in our 10 years of experience. We welcome people of all faiths who want their congregation to take action and take leadership from the affected community.  Help us spread the word.

We will include:

    1. Best practices for physical Sanctuary
    2. Accompaniment
   3.  How to start Sanctuary in the Streets Raid Response
    4. How to plug into local and statewide campaigns

We encourage congregation's decision makers or active congregation's committees to sign up. The training will be our member  congregation on March 23rd from 9:30 am to 2:30 pm at Philadelphia Praise Center in Philadelphia located at 1701 McKean St, Philadelphia, PA 19145

We believe Sanctuary is a vision continuously created through decades of struggle, evolving out of a deep tradition of faith that goes back thousands of years. We are working, organizing, reaching and yearning towards that vision - a vision of collective and personal transformation. We strive with fierce faith to build sanctuaries in ourselves as people and in our communities.  All our work, campaigns and community building are part of a larger vision to build Sanctuaries within ourselves, our cities, and our world.

We see this disastrous political moment as the birth of something big and beautiful and powerful.  It is the birth of an expanded Sanctuary for all.  We have seen more people come forward than ever before, and the vision of Sanctuary can hold these newly activated people. This is a vision defined and organized by undocumented people who have lived in the urgency all along. It is the birth of holistic organizing that invites the complete person into the movement for Sanctuary. This is the moment to build bridges with different communities and join forces.
