The WEN Band Saw Model 3959 is perfect for my needs. It was easy to assemble and the blade was already mounted and adjusted. It works perfectly. It was a great price, and I couldn't pass it up. It's not as loud as I thought it would be. I'm very happy with my purchase. I  own several WEN products and NONE of them have let me down. : )

Perfect for my Needs

At first I had my doubts but once I received it and started using it I was astound! works very good makes great cuts and very good for wavy or circular cuts it has good weight easy to move around or to take anywhere easy to operate I highly recommend WEN has been putting out great products! 5*****

Compact with great power!

I really like this saw. My old bandsaw was a Sears Craftsman and I couldn't add a fence and I was not getting straight cuts but this tool is different. It is also much easier to change blades. The work light is nice but not the best.

I originally ordered this bandsaw and the packaging was severely damaged with parts falling out through the holes. The second one also had packaging damage but everything was OK. I recommend that you take pictures and carefully check any order as there is an issue with the packaging and/or shipment process.

Had 2 nuts missing for the stand but overall it's a great saw.Best for the money and made in USA.Walmart gave me an incredible price and the shipping was super faaaaaasttttt!!!!!!!

Great saw.

I needed a band saw capable of cutting 6” thick bowl blanks, I was planning on getting a 14 inch band saw from one of the big box stores for $450.00 however it has no rip fence or miter attachment. 

See photo attached showing a 5 ½ high oak bowl blank cut from 28 percent moisture wood using my new 10 inch WEN band saw with a 3/8  4 TPI blade using my home made bowl jig.   It took about 10 min. to cut the blank.

WEN 10 Band Saw

Great little saw. Perfect for what I do and that's making wooden smoking pipes and other small projects. Easy enough to assemble with just 2 people.  Took us about 30minutes to put together. Simple to operate for someone who doesn't have a lot of knowledge about saws, so that's a plus. I think this band saw will last me a long time. Thanks ya'll!

Neat Little Saw

Bought this saw for $200 in 1-17.  I normally don't like dealing with Walmart, but no one else had one in stock.  At this price, and with free shipping there's no way Walmart is making any money.  About the shipping:  when I placed the order, they said delivery in about 3 days.  It ended up being about double that, it actually didn't ship until the scheduled delivery date.  but free shipping on a 100lb package in about a week is nothing to complain about.  

Now, about the saw.  For the price point, its unbelievable.  The next saw with a 6 inch cut depth costs double, or more.  I saw some reviews before I bought it that talked about a lot trouble getting the saw assembled, trouble getting it to cut straight, and bad directions.  It may be that things have changed, because my saw was assembled, except for the stand which is no big deal.  I never even looked at the directions.  It did need a little adjustment on the blade rollers, they were a little wide and the blade walked around.  Outside of that, It cut impressively true right out of the box.  The supplied blade is ok, but nothing great.  I'm running a 4tpi Starret, and it cuts smoother and rips faster.

As to ripping- this is definitely not a resaw king.  If you're looking for a professional saw, this is not it.  if you're sawing veneer or building furniture or making guitars for living, it's not for you.  The motor is essentially the same size as most 9 inch saws, which only cut about 3 inches.  If you don't  mind a little extra time, it cuts just fine.  I have ripped up to the maximum depth through cherry, hickory and mesquite, with no problems.  It is possible to stop the motor if you try, but it cuts true and smooth.  I have found it rips much better at the faster speed (which is easy to change).  There is a slight vibration at the higher speed, but I think this will always be the case on any saw that doesn't have a heavy cast frame.  It does not appear to be out of balance anywhere.  The saw is very well thought out and solidly built.  Everything is intuitive and easy to use.  Everything works the way it should. The only exception being the light, as everyone else has pointed out it is on the wrong side.  But its still better than no light.  The included rip fence works great, actually better than any I've ever had.  Once its adjusted the scale is right on the money.  

Overall, I love the saw.  All things considered, Its an awful lot of saw for the money.  I could not be happier, especially for $213 tax and delivery included!

Following the instructions, set it up, turned it on, nada. Inspection revealed the top wheel was up against the inside surface of the height adjustment piece. Someone in Quality Control missed the fact that the snap ring on the shaft retaining the upper wheel had come off, and turning the upper wheel by hand created metal shavings as it rubbed against the height adjustment/alignment piece. Carefully tapped the wheel back onto the shaft and installed the snap ring that was found at the bottom of the upper case. Then I was able to cut 5.75" thick redwood.

Did The Job

First one arrived missing parts and leaking oil. Second one arrived leaking a lot of oil, packaged opened and retaped, lot of different parts on it rusted out solid. Had a lot of hope, big piece of junk!
