School Curriculum, Assessment and Accountability Council to meet Sept. 21

(FRANKFORT, KY) – The Kentucky Department of Education's (KDE's) School Curriculum, Assessment and Accountability Council (SCAAC) will meet on Sept. 21 at 9 a.m. ET.

SCAAC is comprised of 11 voting members and one non-voting member. All members are appointed by the governor.

The council was created to study, audit, review and make recommendations concerning: Kentucky’s system of academic standards; assessing learning; identifying academic competencies and deficiencies of students; holding schools accountable for learning; and assisting schools to improve their performance.

This meeting will be held via video teleconference. Members of the public may watch the meeting in the Kentucky Board of Education meeting room at KDE, 300 Sower Blvd., Frankfort, KY 40601. The recorded meeting will be available on the KDE Media Portal.

Visitors will be required to wear a face covering or they will not be permitted in the building. If a visitor does not have a face covering upon arrival, a face covering will be provided.
