Location:  Perth, Scotland
Salary:  GBP38600 - GBP58000 per annum + Car/cash allowance + annual bonus


Base Location: Perth, Glasgow, Aberdeen or Inverness

What is the Role?

SSEN Transmission has a fantastic opportunity for a Development Project Manager to lead and manage Large Capital Projects, delivering substation, overhead line and cable projects ranging in value from £10m to £2bn.

The key duties & responsibilities will be:

  • Identifying and forming an appropriate team to execute each specific project which you will lead and manage to deliver key project deliverables up to the project construction phase.
  • These will include assessing project feasibility, development of options and initial designs, submission of Planning Applications and delivery of key project Gate documentation. Development of overhead line/underground cable routes and onshore substation site selection, selection of appropriate technologies to meet project requirements, coordination of key surveys and studies to inform designs, coordinating initial design works.
  • Acquisition of land rights and wayleaves, submission of Planning Applications, coordinating key submissions to the Regulator and delivery of key project Gate documentation, including project programmes, costs, resource schedules and relevant plans in line with Project Governance Requirements.
  • Build and maintain productive and enduring relationships with Contractors, Stakeholders, Communities and the public to support the sustainable delivery of the projects that you are responsible for.
  • Assisting with the role of Principal Designer under the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 and Maintaining safety, health and environmental performance and standards

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

  • Experience in developing, managing and reporting on significant project budgets (£10M and above) and an understanding of the electrical network within the Transmission business would be beneficial.
  • Knowledge of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015, Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and other key relevant Health, Safety and Environmental legislation.
  • Experience of the NEC3 Suite of Contracts, with a focus on the Engineering and Construction and Professional Services Contracts
  • Experience in project development through the optioneering and initial design phases, with an ability to develop the optimum project solution, deliver to timescales and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • An ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams to deliver multiple project outputs to inform key processes such as Planning Applications, Tenders and Design Works.
