Builders will soon add hundreds more homes to a sprawling development in West Fort Worth, marking the largest new residential phase for the community since 2020.
David Weekley Homes, Britton Homes and Perry Homes plan to build 224 new homes in the Walsh master-planned community. Homes in the new phase, called Brook Hollow, are expected to range from the high $300,000s to more than $1 million for larger homes.
The largest homes in Brook Hollow will be on 70-foot-wide lots by Britton Homes, a luxury brand of homebuilder Perry Homes. Each of Britton’s home sites will back up to a green space and creek.
Perry Homes will also build homes on 55-foot lots in Brook Hollow as well as 32 luxury townhomes, and David Weekley will build smaller garden homes. The new phase will connect to the Walsh community’s trail system and parks.
The Walsh development, developed by Republic Property Group, spans more than 7,000 acres in both Parker and Tarrant counties near the intersection of Interstates 20 and 30, about 12 minutes west of downtown Fort Worth.
“We’re excited to deliver this many home sites in a new neighborhood at Walsh as we know this will bring interested buyers much-needed choice in what has been a very tight home market for Fort Worth and Tarrant and Parker County in recent months,” Jim Henry, senior vice president of community operations at Republic Property Group, said in a statement.
The master-planned community, named after a prominent North Texas ranching family, first opened in 2017.
Walsh will have between 3,500 and 4,000 sites for new homes when fully built out. So far, about 35% of the land in Walsh planned for homes has been made ready for builders. The community is now home to more than 2,500 residents.
In addition to housing, plans for the property include 2,800 acres of office and industrial space along Interstate 20. The homes are in the Aledo Independent School District.
Republic Property is also known for developing the more than 1,000-acre Light Farms in Celina. The company recently proposed a new community in McKinney, Honey Creek, that would have more than 10,000 homes.
