Photo Shows Return of Young John Connor In ‘Terminator,’ Which Will Take Us Back to the ’90s!

Published

Tim Miller is heading back to 1991 with Terminator, the next sequel in the franchise that’s now filming in Madrid. The newest installment is said to ignore all sequels except James Cameron‘s Terminator 2: Judgment Day, although it’s been unknown up until this point where the story would pick up.

It was reported last month that Brett Azar had joined the cast. This was notable as he played a younger Arnold Schwarzenegger in Terminator: Genisys, which suggested we’ll possibly be seeing a younger version of the T-800 in some capacity. Now, it looks like another character will be returning.

A photo is making the rounds that shows Azar with a young actor, Jude Collie, who is alleged to be playing a young John Connor in Terminator! When the photo was shared on socials, it declared both actors as CGI stand-ins, which means it’s quite possible that we’ll be seeing Edward Furlong‘s young face in the film.

While it’s incredibly disappointing that Furlong wasn’t cast to star in the film alongside Linda Hamilton (Sarah Connor), it’s a relief to know that he’ll be included in some capacity. Also, if true, this photo all but confirms that Miller will be heading back to 1991 and toying with the events in Cameron’s Judgment Day! Does this also mean we’ll see the return of Robert Patrick‘s T-1000?! Oh God, don’t tease me.

Miller and Cameron recently found their new Terminator in Gabriel Luna, who appeared as Ghost Rider in ABC’s superhero series Marvel’s “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” Paramount releases the film on November 22, 2019.

Thanks to Bloody reader  for tipping me off! Update: TheTerminatorFans.com originally broke the news but had a takedown request as their report contained speculation that could have been too close to the mark of how the young actor will be utilized in the movie.
