how can I record a voice over ???

Hello,
 
I'm hoping someone can help with this issue.I was wondering how can I record a voice over for Covoco.  When I record in either Adobe Audition or Adobe Premiere Pro I get this strange resonance sound at certain high tones. See here for example: Dropbox - Ringing testing.wav 
I don't seem to get this noise when using other programs, or when testing the mic directly with the sound card (i.e. no 3rd party software program) so I don't believe it's a hardware issue.
If anyone has any ides I would be very grateful!
