Salary: GBP36000 - GBP46000 per annum Software and Datalink Vulnerability Researcher Salary: 36 - 46k Specific Job Description: The successful candidate will be working within a small team on a customer funded research project to: Analyse and investigate potential vulnerabilities in datalinks of commercial products by conducting technical studies based on a requirements backlog Develop technical solutions for protocol analysis of datalinks Develop technical solutions for exploitation of potential vulnerabilities Present findings to the customer Produce technical reports for the wider community of interest Suggest areas of future research Required skills: Understanding of the fundamentals of wireless communications Proven experience of using tools to capture and inspect network traffic and datalinks Knowledge of using penetration testing and reverse engineering tools and processes Experience of protocol analysis and decoding Experience of Linux Operating Systems Experience of Python or similar scripting languages Desired skills: Experience in security industry, which may include penetration testing, intrusion detection or Vunerability Research An understanding of embedded systems Knowledge of proprietary RF communication vulnerabilities An understanding of serial protocols and microcontrollers Knowledge of basic electronics Experience with ARM software and hardware reverse engineering, and debugging Knowledge of the Offensive Cyber and Cyber EW domain The Software and Datalink Vulnerability Researcher role will involve working on UK classified programmes the candidate must therefore be willing and able to obtain a security clearance.
