Practical, relatable, and inspiring for anyone rethinking their career
I really liked how the author weaves her own life experiences with behavioural science theory. It makes the advice feel relatable and grounded, not just academic. I also appreciated how openly she shares her mistakes and setbacks along the way - it made the book feel honest and encouraging. I’ve read a few behavioural science books, and this one stands out for its focus on career change. It’s practical without being preachy, and offers tools to help you rethink your next steps thoughtfully. I even gifted a copy to a young person I mentor who is questioning her career path. She loved it and found it hugely inspiring. A great read for anyone at a crossroads. My own copy is well thumbed, as you can see from the video, with lots of sections highlighted and bookmarked so I can revisit the insights again!

One of the best, if not the best, book I've read on the subject of goal setting and achievement. - This book is a real gem of inspiration and guidance that arrived in my life at exactly the right time.

I thought this book was superb, but more importantly, after about ten minutes I felt it was already changing my behaviour! After reading it just once, I feel so much more positive about being on track to achieve all I want in the near future.

Lordan lays out her methods and thoughts very gently, with lots of good examples from real life, and a practical toolkit for achieving what you want in small steps that lead to incredible results. Everything is intelligently researched and well explained.

I found it readable, funny, thoughtful, insightful, INCREDIBLY useful and, very very rare for a book, genuinely life-changing.

I'm reading this book over several times to make sure that I have a full understanding of the proposed actions and to make sure that I actually make them a positive 'habit'.

If you're like me and seriously pursuing your best future, buy this book and build a better life!

In this book the author takes behavioural science and really demonstrates in a really accessible way how it can be used to improve yourself and achieve your goals. While other behavioural science books tend to focus on the societal benefits of behavioural science, this book deconstructs the theory and applies it in ways that are really practical, often inspiring, and can be applied at an individual level. While I was primarily interested in the academic insights and hadn't really thought about really setting personal goals, I found myself reflecting on the exercises and figuring out how I can start applying them to my life.

The book has a lot of fresh ideas, and helps reframe older ones in a new context, with examples of how they work in practice that help them stick in your brain. I particularly enjoyed thinking about how omission bias or action bias has been driving some of my choices without realising it.

All in all, a really brilliant read! I recommend to everyone who has started thinking about how to achieve their goals and even to those who haven't yet really thought about it!

Think Big is a comprehensive guide to achieving your biggest goals. In this book Grace encourages the reader to become self aware. She also highlights the fascinating behavioural biases and blind spots that we can all fall victim to and outlines methods to navigate these throughout our career. The pages of Think Big are full of practical solutions to speed bumps we will hit on our journey. This book has helped me to break down my goal into achievable small steps so the end destination no longer seems just beyond an insurmountable mountain and for that I am extremely grateful.

Think Big is engaging from start to finish through interactive questionnaires that I will most definitely revisit along my big thinking journey. Think Big is a must for anyone who wants to stack the odds in their favour and make their wildest dreams become a reality. This is the type of book you keep for life and refer back to whenever life throws you a curveball or you just need some motivation to get back on track.

The behavioural insights Grace has outlined in Think Big will no doubt help you achieve your big thinking goal but can also help you build better personal relationships, be happier and live a better life. I have noticed the difference in myself already and encourage everyone to read this book and recommend it to their friends! It is applicable to everyone, no matter what stage you are at in your career or in your life!

Think Big is a fabulous book, which I would recommend to anyone looking to apply behavioural insights to achieving their goals. It provides a clear framework to help you work out what your big goals are, and how to move towards them by taking small, manageable actions. The framework is based on well-evidenced scientific insights, making it highly credible, and the entire book is written in a straightforward and engaging way with many relatable examples.

Reading Think Big provided several ‘ah-ha’ moments through its discussion of behaviours that, on reflection, I can see have held me back in the past; as well as making me laugh out loud at some of the examples provided from Dr Lordan’s own school years. Overall, working through this book is like having a friend cheering you on and supporting you with wise advice as you reconsider your future and take steps to change it for the better.

This book is filled with stories which bring home the key messages in a clear and engaging way. Compared to other self help or career progression books, this is one to trust as the messages are backed by science. The author does an excellent job of conveying behavioural science concepts in an easy to understand way.

I am looking forward to applying these insights to my life as there are many tangible suggestions throughout- I particularly like the template on monitoring learning!

This is a fabulous book. Really well written in an engaging style, that makes the Behavioural Science-infused techniques it proposes, easy to understand and highly practical. Dr Lordan writes in a very personal way which draws the reader in and demonstrates that she practices what she preaches.

Whether you're starting out on your career or retired, this is an indispensable guide to the question we're all asking ourselves - how do I get the most out of life? By reading this, you'll get some ideas about how to go about answering it. Highly recommended.
