Music for Medicine - Veterans Dental Care

Tax deductible
Saint Andrews United Presbyterian Church (201 E. Jefferson St., Butler, PA 16001) is hosting a Veterans Day Concert featuring the TMG Big Band on November 10, 2019 at 2pm at the church.  The concert is free, but all donations will be given to support the Veterans Dental Care Program at the Jean B. Purvis Community Health Center in Butler, PA.

The center has provided free primary medical care for uninsured and underinsured community members for over a decade!  Most caregivers are volunteers and the center is funded by community donations.

This program helps provide dental treatment to those many veterans who do not have coverage and cannot afford it.  See below for just a few examples (provided by the center) of those helped by this wonderful program!

We know many of you want to support our veterans in need but cannot attend our concert.  If so, please consider contributing to this Go Fund Me campaign!

ALL donations support dental care for our veterans!

Please contact the church (https://standrewsupc.org/) or center (https://www.butlerhealthclinic.org/) if you have questions!

"J is 92 (90 when we started seeing him): he was the first over 65 patient we saw. He sounded so cute on the phone that we couldn’t say no to him. US Navy WW2 veteran. He came in because he lost a filling and ended up spending an hour talking to Dr B. He has had quite a few fillings done and loves coming to get his teeth cleaned.

D, 60: He worked as a nurse for many years. He is a USMC veteran that needed many fillings. Despite not having a lot of money (couldn’t afford dental care), he does a lot of good in the community. He gives the homeless free meals and serves a big thanksgiving dinner for them.

T, 59: Veteran that had never really been to a dentist and never brushed his teeth. He wanted all of his teeth out. After his exam, he needed some fillings but no extractions. ... He was very hesitant about getting dental treatment but he showed up to his filling appointment ... He has gotten many fillings done and has improved his oral hygiene. He has also formed a good bond with ... [the doctor] ... and trusts him now.

L, 77. He works part time and is the nicest man ever. He didn’t have many teeth left when we started seeing him and they were all bad and needed to be extracted. He had a very hard time getting the extractions done but after 4 appointments, they are done. All of the infection and painful teeth are gone but now he doesn’t have any teeth and really needs dentures.H, 68. USMC veteran. He had a couple bad teeth when he came in here. Had some extractions and some fillings and a cleaning. Very happy with the treatment he has gotten here. Money is tight for him and his wife because they are raising their 15 year old grandson.
