Hi everyone,
this thread is dedicated to discussing the new Izmo skin, which will be included in the Hive 2.1 update.
You can grab the current Hive 2.1 beta version installers over here: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=559585
Izmo has been created by the insanely creative GUI designer Plugmon.
It provides a drastically different look and workflow, letting you experience and explore Hive as if it was a completely new synth, sparking your creativity in exciting, new ways.
One goal of the current Hive 2.1 beta is to get as much of your feedback for the new skin as possible.
Izmo is still work in progress, and Plugmon will join the discussion to collect your requests and refine the skin, if needed.
Please give it a good try, and don't hesitate to let us know your honest thoughts.
Is the concept easy to grasp, or are you having difficulties with any parts of the design?
What do you like, what do you dislike about it?
Is it aesthetically pleasing?
How does the workflow feel?
Collaborating with Plugmon to bring you a new look for Hive is quite an experiment for us, as well as for Plugmon.
We are very excited to get your thoughts and opinions about Izmo.
Cheers,
Tas

Now, this is a striking, beautiful GUI
Thanks Plugmon for this stunning work, and Urs and Team for this 2.1 update.
Hive has grown as an amazingly fresh and versatile software instrument.

Cool theme. Too bad it is so light.
Also, i can't find the knob to return to the 'normal osc's' from the WT selection.

I am only getting all the wavetables in a dropdown. Wherever i press, i don't get the 'normal OSC' menu. I am on Windows btw.

I just got Hive a few days ago and I am considering moving to the new skin. Looks great
On a first look, I like the many fine adjustments, like modifying the filters on the display or via YX.
Two things I came across:
- I also was initially confused about how to switch from WT to other OSCs.
Since the SUB get's so much space for selecting the mode, I overlooked the label for the OSC mode.
- In the scope, when selecting the range the left and right bars are very thin and it's more complicated than in the other skin to drag them.

Looks like an evolution of the Eclipse theme, which is good, but the color scheme on Eclipse was better. To much black and white in this one. Maybe colorizing the waveforms and filters in the displays would help and/or add a color scheme like in Eclipse.
The layout is good.
Some issues: the rings around the knobs are pixelated, some framerate drops with this skin, especially when the oscilloscope is open, no framerate drops with the original skin. Just dragging the window of Hive around with the mouse is laggy whit this skin.
Win10, VST3, 120% zoom.
