Mobile Media, the Bournemouth-based mobile poster company, has confirmed that a £1m-plus deal has been completed for the acquisition of rival firm Freight Media. Led by the firm’s owner, Karen Olsen, the deal will see Mobile Media double in size, becoming, according the firm, \"the leading player\" in the £6m mobile poster market.

Olsen commented: \"Our business is to bring huge colourful messages to people when they are out and about. It was silly to work against each other, when we would be wiser putting those efforts into working together.\"

Prior to the deal, Mobile Media had worked with Freight Media, handling campaigns for big clients such as the National Lottery. All Freight Media staff have been invited to transfer to the new company.

Olsen added: \"This means that we can offer UK-wide campaigns at 24 hours notice, but our bread and butter is still the launch of retail outlets.\"
