Can GPT apps replace all other applications? Since OpenAI launched the GPT Store, there are thoughts that GPT-based apps might replace the ones we currently use most often. However, the key question is how realistically people will adopt Chat in its current state? Let's consider this: 1. People take over two months on average to make a new behavior automatic, posing a significant challenge for software trying to change habits. 2. With over 5.3 billion internet users (65% of the global population) and 4.32 billion accessing the internet on mobiles, the current most downloaded mobile apps focus on entertainment and communication—TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp, and Telegram. 3. Recent stats indicate ChatGPT has about 180.5 million users (free and paid) since its launch in November 2022. Now, the question: Is there a noticeable gap? If GPT apps aim to replace all others, how can people across countries, age groups, and with various habits be persuaded to switch from their current apps to GPT apps? Will it require integration with widely used apps in a manner that is simple enough for anyone to use easily? What could happen if this gap gets filled?
