Meet the Teacher! - September 17th

Mark your calendars!!!  Our Fall Meet the Teacher event will be held virtually on Thursday, September 17th from 6 pm until 8 pm.  The event will include virtual classroom visits and breakout sessions to help you support your students this semester.  Next week’s Sunday message will include a welcome video from Mrs. King, as well as the schedule and access details for Meet the Teacher.  We look forward to seeing you on the 17th!

Interims during Plan B transitions

Since we cannot currently print and distribute interims, we will use this weekly message to notify you when you can check PowerSchool for updated course grades.  These notifications will align with our traditional interim distribution schedule while we remain in Plan B Transition.

Please check students’ grades in PowerSchool on Tuesday, September 8th.  Teachers will have updated grades through Friday, September 4th.  Reach out to your student’s teachers with specific questions or concerns about student progress.

If the district makes a switch to Plan A or to normal Plan B, we will follow up with how that impacts reporting dates and processes.

Grades in Powerschool

Teachers are expected to update grades in PowerSchool at least once per five class periods.  Since we are on the 4x4 block schedule this year, this means that grades will be updated in PowerSchool at least once weekly.  

With the first two weeks of the 2020-2021 school year being designated as an orientation period by Superintendent Cathy Moore, the week of 8/31 - 9/4 was the first week teachers were required to enter grades.  All students should have at least one grade per class in PowerSchool by Tuesday, September 8th.  Please reach out to teachers with questions about individual grades and/or assignments.

Senior Portraits

Prestige Portraits will be on campus to take senior yearbook portraits on September 14 & 15. You must have an appointment; no walk-ins allowed. If you still need an appointment, go to tinyurl.com/mhs2021portraits. PTSA Updates

We would like to thank our community for so quickly responding to the need for donations to support the first (ever...) Virtual PAWS Celebration! This is an opportunity for faculty to celebrate some of our freshmen and this year more than ever, making sure our 9th graders are building a sense of community and connection with Millbrook is more important than ever. There will be more PAWS events, and Character Ed too - that we will need to support, so lots of opportunity for everyone to pitch in!

We are literally 27 people away from our goal of 400... an incredible response. I hope to report next week that we met and even exceeded our goal!! On behalf of the board, it is motivating and encouraging to have this kind of support and we are so grateful!

We received and have approved our first 2 educator grant requests! (This is your no fuss fundraising and membership donations in action!!) We will be supporting Ms. Humphrey with a larger screen to project math lessons and work onto, and Mr. Patton with some stellar new AV equipment to enhance the live streaming and video production capabilities across all of MHS.

El mensaje del domingo de la próxima semana incluirá un video de bienvenida de la Sra. King, así como el horario y los detalles de acceso a Meet the Teacher. ¡Esperamos verte el día 17!

Internos durante las transiciones del Plan B

Dado que actualmente no podemos imprimir y distribuir los interinos, usaremos este mensaje semanal para notificar cuándo puede consultar PowerSchool para obtener las calificaciones actualizadas de los cursos. Actualizaciones de la PTSA

Nos gustaría agradecer a nuestra comunidad por responder tan rápidamente a la necesidad de donaciones para apoyar la primera (lo de nunca ...) Celebración Virtual PAWS! Esta es una oportunidad para que la facultad celebre a algunos de nuestros estudiantes de primer año y este año más que nunca, asegurarse de que nuestros estudiantes de noveno grado están construyendo un sentido de comunidad y la conexión con Millbrook es más importante que nunca. Habrá más eventos de PAWS y Character Ed también, que necesitaremos apoyar, ¡así que hay muchas oportunidades para que todos contribuyan!
