Voice-over: Steven Adler, drummer for the original incarnation of Guns N’ Roses, is set to release his new album Back From The Dead today, November 26. It's a true classic-sounding hard rock record based on the influences of the band comprised of Steven Adler, frontman Jacob Bunton, guitarist Lonny Paul and bassist Johnny Martin. The collection also features guest guitar work from Slash and Rob Zombie's John 5. Slash guests on the track Just Don't Ask and we asked Adler about teaming back up with his old GN’R pal and how that was instrumental in the album title.

Steven: It was a dream come true. I mean, you know, knowing Slash and creating what we did was 25 years ago. I wanted him to come in and play on, like I said, with the other stuff, but it was just… I was in the right frame of mind, you know, mentally, physically, spiritually – and spiritually is a big one - and just him coming in just made me feel and see that I am doing, you know, something good and something right. Because he just doesn’t come and play with anybody. I mean, that's Slash, he's a rock guitar hero.

Jacob Bunton: When Slash walked into the room you could legitimately feel the love that these two have for each other. You could feel the energy of people that have been best friends since they were 12 years old, and it was awesome. It's what we call, you know, a goose bump moment. It was really great to have him on the record.

Voice-over: He talked about being invited by Slash to play on the guitarist’s first solo album.

Steven: And that was just very nice of him to do. I was… let me tell you. I wasn't mentally, spiritually in the right place when I did that. That was just very nice of him and if they even used my parts that would be so cool. I mean, it was just nice of him, but it took, that was what, two years ago? So it took a lot of work. You know, learning respect again is a lot of work. You gotta have a lot of faith. And him showing up just showed me that faith and a lot of work, you know, it does pay off. Believing and believing in yourself, and working hard, and trying, and giving an effort.
