“I have worked with Sheila for almost four years. First in redesigning our Mental Health network to enable it to better scale and take full advantage of the energy and enthusiasm of our people and secondly leading our overall UK well-being programme where we have seen a number of significant improvements in our well-being metrics. During this time Sheila has played a key role across a number of areas, including but not limited to: - Co-creating our annual Health and Well-being strategy with key stakeholders. - Creating a drumbeat of well-being communication in a manner which enables local teams to engage with what is being done centrally and also plan local activities - Working with our well-being partners to embed them in our processes, drive engagement, influence their future road maps and make sure we have an integrated offer from an employee perspective - Planning and managing well-being campaigns, with notable impact (e.g., a five-fold engagement increase on our well-being portal) - Managing annual renewals with well-being suppliers, working with procurement, benefits, legal, marketing and data privacy - Presenting on health and well-being to large audiences, including our UK Employee Forum - Project managing the launch of new supports, including a new Occupational Health service, menopause support, fertility support and neurodiversity support for employees all of which have been very positively received and were launched on plan - Organised our data to help move us towards a more insight led culture As well as rigorous delivery Sheila’s core strengths are her ability to effectively collaborate across a large organisation, building effective relationships and coalitions to deliver change, her compassion, which she puts at the heart of her work every day and her insight driven commitment to integrate inclusion into everything we do.”

How can you persuade people from different geographic backgrounds to collaborate?
In my experience, I’ve found that effective cross-cultural collaboration starts with valuing each team member’s background and perspectives. Building trust through shared goals and transparent communication is key. Embracing diverse ideas enhances teamwork, leading to innovative solutions. Lastly, understanding and flexibility are crucial in navigating cultural differences. I believe that with respect and patience, culturally diverse teams can achieve great things together.
