In a vote that ended Oct. 19, cincinnati.com readers voted more than 63,000 times for the Cincinnati Enquirer athlete of the week winners for Oct. 8-14, sponsored by TriHealth.

You do not have to be a subscriber to vote, a period that lasts Monday afternoon to Friday at 3 p.m. each week. Please submit any nominees by Sunday evening for the previous week's performances to mlaughman@enquirer.com. The new ballot will be posted Monday evening. You can vote once an hour from any device.

This week's winners are:

Ohio football team: Williamsburg - The Wildcats trailed 20-14 at halftime but came back and won 47-28, off the strength of Drew McKibben’s 201 yards and 4 touchdowns against Fayetteville. They only won 1 game last year and 0 in league play but they have won 3 overall and 2 In league play. Unlike bigger schools they play, they play several players both ways. As a Division VI school, they play mostly DIII-DV schools.

Northern Kentucky football team: Newport Central Catholic – They beat Lloyd 26-8 to go 2-0 in 2A, District 6 play. They can win the district title outright with a win over Newport next week.

Ohio football player:  Billy Crago, Lebanon – The kicker was named Skyline Chili Crosstown Showdown MVP after going a perfect 2-for-2 on field goals and making his lone extra point attempt. His 18-yard kick with 2:50 to go gave Lebanon the upset over Miamisburg.

Northern Kentucky football player: Jared Hicks, Conner – Last Friday in a 34-17 win over Ryle, Hicks had 239 yards passing with two passing touchdowns and 43 yards rushing with one touchdown and an interception while playing safety on defense.

NKY/Indiana girls cross country: Hannah Morgan, Lawrenceburg – She placed 20th overall in the Shelbyville regional tournament to advance to semi-state next week with at time of 20:44.0.

NKY boys cross countryPeyton Fairchild, Conner – He was the Northern Kentucky Conference Championship winner with a time of 15:56.7, to help Conner to a Division I team title.

Ohio girls cross countryPaige Parrish, Badin – She came in first in the GCL-Coed league cross-country meet, to become the GCL-Coed runner of the year.

Ohio boys cross country: Mike Rand, Badin – He was the top local placer in the boys Greater Catholic League Co-ed tournament with a fourth-place finish (16:40.73), helping Badin to a second-place team finish.

Boys golf: Logan Thomas, Mason – He tied for 10th with a 77 to lead Mason to a second-place team Division I district tournament finish. The Comets advance to state as a team.

Girls golf: Ally Madden, Mason – The freshman had a 77 to take runner-up in the district tournament Oct. 9, helping Mason advance to state as a team.

Boys soccer: Corbin Richardson, Batavia - In three games over six days, the senior captain scored three goals and had four assists (three against No. 4 DIII ranked Mariemont) to lead the Bulldogs to three victories to finish the regular season.

Girls soccer: Mickayla Kowalski, Badin – The keeper recorded two shutouts as the Rams ended the season undefeated in the GCL-Coed with wins over Roger Bacon and McNicholas.

Singles tennis: Kelli Niehaus, Mount Notre Dame - She was the Division I district third-place winner after defeating Julia Bays of Beavercreek in the match for third place Oct. 13. She moves on to the state tournament next weekend.

Doubles tennis:  Peyton Osha-Emily Mayer, Wyoming – This Wyoming duo won third place in the Division II district tennis championship and advance to state after defeating Summit Country Day in the third-place match.

Volleyball: Marie Plitt, Loveland – She was named the Eastern Cincinnati Conference volleyball athlete of the year for the second-straight season. This past week, she had 71 assists, 42 kills, 38 digs, 15 blocks and nine aces in four wins for the Tigers.

Water polo: Bob Wise, Sycamore - In a dual match between Sycamore and Princeton at Princeton, the junior tallied 20 blocks and at least 1 steal to help lead the Aviators to an 11-4 win. Over the previous weekend he blocked 30-plus blocks including 5 penalty shots.
