Are you suffering from 'Work from Home' fatigue? A few weeks into the lockdown and perhaps the novelty of working from home is beginning to wear off. I asked a group of colleagues to discuss how to cope with the challenges imposed by the lockdown and how to work from home and remain positive about it. In this video, I was joined by Robert Gardner, Tammy Owens, Laura Ash, Paul McGee - The Sumo Guy and Tom Ball. In the full discussion, we looked at: - How organisations can support employees forced into working from home - Coping with mental and physical issues caused by working from home - Working around 'distractions' such as young family - The role of technology - Your working environment and more. This is a short taster and the link to the full discussion can be found in the comments. I hope you find it useful. #covid19 #workfromhome #businesssurvival #stayingconnected #workingfromhome #businessadvice #zoomcalls
'It's a marathon, not a sprint.' That's a statement that has to be echoed again and again, mainly because like Laura said, these are unprecedented times and unlike back in the day when you could go out and do other things to maintain a balance between work and personal life, now we have to stay at home. And the fatigue kicks in at different stages, especially since some people are surrounded by family and others are not. It's an interesting discussion we wouldn't mind having as a team. Thanks for this, Andy!
Working from home should be as appealing in practice, as it sounds. Anything less, and there's something wrong/missing somewhere.
Carly Hesp (Assoc.CIPD) one for us to listen to!
There is a lot of research about "Crisis fatigue". I think that there are a lot of people who are carrying underlying anxiety about the Covid situation and that is draining.
Agree Pauls point about face to face and telephone contacts, love the Wallow Time concept and managing mindset
Really hope this proves of value to people. Thanks Andy for setting this up.
Thanks Andy Lopata for fixing-up. I mentioned the Calm app - not car 🚗 🗺 map - 😂- although we all need a laugh right now!
