Priyanka Chopra apologies for comment on Sikkim

In a recent interview Priyanka Chopra commented about Sikkim’s peace situation, which brought her trouble from the people. She got trolled for the controversial comment but later apologized to the tourism minister of the state. The actor and her production company, Purple Pebble Films, apologised to Sikkim’s tourism minister, Ugen T Gyatso.



Priyanka allegedly called Sikkim insurgency-hit in an interview but later clarified that her comment was misconstructed and even sent an apology letter. In the letter, which is going viral and is believed to be written by Priyanka she says that her comments were “misconstrued”. She asserts, “... I mentioned how Sikkim was grappling with the refugee situation caused by insurgencies... I had meant by the “neighbouring countries” .. I’m fully aware that Sikkim is an incredible host nation to so many refugees...”
