Human trafficking involves the use of force, fraud, or coercion to obtain some type of labor or commercial sex act; it can target any vulnerable child or adult. Sensational stories, conspiracy theories, and political agendas cause us not to recognize real life trafficking situations, and then victims don’t get help.

Survivors are the experts on how trafficking happens, and local organizations are working every day to combat trafficking.

If you see a situation of potential forced labor or sexual exploitation, report it to the National Human Trafficking Hotline call 1-888-373-7888 text 233733. In Suffolk County, NY, call 1-800-220-TIPS. Emergencies, call 911.

To end human trafficking, volunteer or donate to local organizations already in the fight like @empowerli ! #knockoutht
Contest closes on January 31, 2021.
