Hook Up Your Pedals with George L's Cable Kit

Pedals are cool. We all love pedals, but we hate losing tone. George L's Effects Cable Kit give you high-end cable and solderless plugs to create the perfect pedalboard. You can lose tone and signal with each cable length, not to mention pedals, but thanks to George L's you can create the perfect cable setup for your pedalboard. The shorter the cable run the better, this cable kit provides 10' of cable and 10 solderless connectors so you can create the exact length of cable you need to keep signal runs short and your pedalboard clean. Eric Johnson uses George L's cables on his pedalboard, why shouldn't you?

  • Solderless plugs
Quality sound

One of the most over-looked ways to increase your sound quality is with better cables. Remember your signal chain is only as good as the weakest link. George L's Guitar Cables use high-end cables and connectors to create the best signal possible. George L's cables will even help reduce unwanted hum and noise in your signal chain. Wire up your pedalboard with the George L's Effects Cable Kit and notice the difference in your sound today!

Low capacitance cable

George L's uses low capacitance co-ax cable, this gives them as clear and uncolored a sound as possible. The higher the capacitance of a cable the more it gives you a muddy sound by killing your highs. We've all plugged into cable that have sounded muddy and nasty, George L's guitar cable ensure that you won't have that problem again. Keep the signal chain as short and as clean as possible with the George L's Effects Cable Kit.

Solderless plugs

No mess, no fuss, George L's Effects Cable Kit is fast and easy to use. You'll love the solderless plugs when creating your cables. Just slip the cable into the plug, screw down the end cap, and you're done! Yep, it is that easy. No more soldering iron, flux, nasty smelling smoke, or burning yourself. This kit is so easy to use you can do it at the gig. Great sounding and easy to build cables are what makes the George L's Effects Cable Kit a must have!

Solved pedalboard space problems

I use a buffet of distortion pedals. I bought Morningstar's excellent MIDI controller and loop switcher so I could switch in different pedals vs. daisy chaining them before the amp (Revv D20). The loop switcher has 2 vertical rows of jacks. Ernie ball pedalboard cables were nice and flat, but too fat to plug into both rows. I used them on the bottom row, but I had to use straight plug cables in the top row, which hogged board space. In the left 1/3 of the picture a straight blue cable is the send for loop B (to compressor -> Wampler) and yellow cable is the return for that loop. The cables wasted space between the fuzz pedal (loop A) and Wah. The middle picture shows those 2 cables replaced by custom length George L's. The right-angle plugs and cables are so small they easily fit in the top row, and cables now run down under the board. After building these 2 cables, I got the hang of it. It's a little hairy trying to screw the cable in. Pliers were needed to fully tighten the connector. The right side of the picture shows 2 more George L cables cleaning up my connection to the Revv G3. All 4 cables worked perfectly. With a slight shift of pedals, I was able to move my Drop pedal into the new space and add Revv G8 in the upper right. Although expensive, the George L cables solved my problem and sound great. I connect guitar -> G8 -> Drop -> Wah -> Loop switcher -> D20 -> D20 send to G8 -> H9 -> D20 return. While this review is about the cables, I want to mention that the G8 is magic. G8, Drop, and Wah all want to be first in the chain, but this order works perfectly. The G8 squashes pedal and pre-amp noise with the same setting regardless of whether I am using Drop, Wah, or any loop with fuzz or high gain, even stacking pedals/loops!

Surprisingly easy and solid

I thought making cables was an unnecessary hassle. But after routing my pedalboard and realizing I just wanted the pedals to be in certain spots on the board, not just in order of input/output right to left, these George L's made 22in runs and such a breeze. By now I've made 20 or so cables for varying boards and had only one not pass the initial current test (voltage meter, check tip to tip and sleeve to sleeve—easy!). I just snipped off 1/4" or so of cable and tried again. I must have butchered something, but it still ended up working just fine. Anyway, highly recommended cables.

No Static At All

I'm assembling my first, one and only bass pedal board. Temple Audio Duo 24 Pedalboard Gunmetal. The George Ls Effects cable Kit ( Black/Nkl ) allowed me to wire the pedals and keep all the connections clean, neat, noise free and uncluttered. Exact lengths from pedal to pedal.

Superb!

Was looking for custom cabling and George L was recommended by my longtime sales engineer, Mike Picotte. I thought they were a tad too expensive and ask Mike for an alternative. He said to try the Boss cable product and qualified by saying he hadn't used that particular product. The Boss product was more in my price range so I went ahead and ordered. Boy, was I sorry. I spent a whole evening trying to get one cable to work. The design on the Boss is poor, imho. It is very difficult to get the connectors to work with the cable. Frustrated, I contacted Mike for his advice. Mike suggested returning the Boss cables and getting the George L. I followed his advice and happy that I did. The George L cables are high quality and very easy to assemble. I did a 24-cable pedal board within a couple of hours. Maybe there are folks who can get the Boss cable product to work. Good on them if they can. I suggest spending the extra money and going with George L. I thank Mike and Sweetwater for the excellent customer service - service that has kept me coming back for 18 years and counting.

Great cables!

I've used George L cables on 2 pedalboard builds and I am very happy with them. I have used other products before but George L's allow you to make custom sizes and I especially like that the wire diameter is smaller than regular 1/4" cable and are very flexible. I've had the same cables on a board for more than 5 years and have never had a problem. I recently purchased some for a big pedalboard build and again I am very pleased. It allows me to organize and route the wiring to be nice and neat which helps with the performance of the cables and the signal. I recommend these cables for anyone looking to save space, and have reliable cables for your pedalboard.
