There are special moments where friendship, new relationships, global connections and once-in-a-lifetime opportunities are created. ASGTG 2019 became just that for Amazon sellers this year.” -- Dvir Cohen

ASGTG started as a simple idea with a profound mission: to connect sellers with other sellers, and to face the major issues seen by Amazon sellers as a united voice. We want to work with Amazon as partners in a healthy relationship. In a healthy relationship, issues arise and are solved with communication. This idea has proven to be even more powerful than we ever thought possible.

Sellers need to keep their guard up at all times nowadays. On a marketplace that moves faster than we can keep up with, it’s important to stay updated on what’s happening. This way, every seller is informed with the knowledge they need to stay competitive on such a massive platform. This way, every seller has the opportunity to address issues before they happen -- not once they receive their suspension notice.

Off-Amazon Product Marketing. Marketing methods outside of AMS are more crucial than ever before. Because of harsh takedowns of sellers who incentivize reviews for their products, we must now adapt to the stricter rules regarding how to ask for a product review. The bottom line: we can’t ask for reviews. But it’s not the end of the world -- as speaker Kevin King said, “I don’t need to buy reviews, because I make a great product. You need to make a great product and sell it. The reviews will come. It’s that simple.”

Social media guru Wilfried Lighthart gave an excellent presentation on how to use social platforms to promote your brand, and ultimately, sell more products. This topic is likely to become even more important in years to come.

Sellers do want to help each other. It’s foolish to believe that every seller is willing to open up their vault and give away all of their valuable secrets. No new seller should expect this, and no seasoned seller should do it. But it was clear that the crowd of 650+ sellers at ASGTG ‘19 was full of successful sellers, and most of them had some great information they were willing to share. It’s a fine line. Networking is the key to a successful Amazon business, but ultimately, each seller needs to form their own sales method. The best way to go about this is by combining what you learn from other sellers into one slam-dunk selling strategy.

Everyone should build their network before they need it, ASGTG is the place to be: Give to get!”

Keep up with the trends and always know what not to do. Selling on Amazon for sellers. ASGTG members know what the current trends are -- but they also know exactly what the worst seller sins imaginable are. DON’T Photoshop invoices. DON’T buy reviews. DON’T buy branded goods without knowing the source and having sufficient proof to back it up (good invoices).

ASGTG members also know exactly what happens when a seller decides to risk it and use one of these forbidden methods -- and many are more than willing to tell a new seller all about it.

Diversity. In the past years, ASGTG events attracted a crowd made up of sellers from a single ZIP code in the US that makes up about 7% of all sales on Amazon -- 11201, Brooklyn, New York (according to a slide at ASGTG 2018). ASGTG 2019 brought together a much more diverse crowd, with new attendees from all over the US and even internationally. It’s clear that ASGTG is becoming a prominent, unbiased group in the industry -- and this makes us all the more powerful.

Taxes matter now more than ever. Sellers aren’t tax experts -- that’s why professionals like attorney Paul Rafelson and Michael Fleming were in attendance this year. As a growing issue on the platform, tax concerns should be addressed before they become a problem.

Seller’s groups are powerful. Every year, ASGTG puts forth a pioneering event that truly shows one important truth: sellers are powerful, and sellers united are even more powerful. ASGTG ‘19 brought many new sellers together with seasoned pros, and it was clear that everyone left with an abundance of advice and even a new perspective on their overall business.

Don’t limit yourself. Amazon is great -- but so are other marketplaces like eBay, Walmart and many more. eBay representatives Kathy Terrill and Aaron Schneider were in attendance this year, supplying Amazon sellers a valuable revived marketplace for high-volume sellers to expand.

There is NO reason for highly successful Amazon sellers NOT to sell on eBay! As an eBay coach I'm not "anti- Amazon", rather I'm FOR sellers making more money by adding eBay as an additional revenue stream. Once added, invest in optimizing eBay to maximize your sales. Listing without promotions is foolish.”
-- Kathy Terrill, eBay

"eBay has 429 million downloads of our mobile app and did about $90 billion in sales in 2018. eBay has attended the ASGTG events for the past few years and has helped many ASGTG group members.” --Aaron Schneider, eBay

ASGTG was founded upon the belief that sellers should have the ability to prevent a suspension. Sellers can arm themselves with the tools they need to keep a suspension far away from their seller account -- and deal with it properly if it does happen. Through social media, we provide up-to-the-minute news from Amazon on all relevant compliance rules, current news and major takedowns.

ASGTG rapidly exploded from a handful of sellers to thousands, including many of the top 200 Amazon sellers -- and we aren’t stopping any time soon. The sheer volume of sellers around the world with instant, accurate, real-time information is more than enough to change the e-commerce industry for the greater good.

“The ASGTG can - and will - reform the global e-commerce marketplaces. The goal is collaboration and communication with all relevant parties” - Ed Rosenberg, Founder: ASGTG
