2018, Journal of Drug Delivery Science and TechnologyCitation Excerpt :For estimating both simple and combined effects of formulation variables (X1, X2, X3, X4) on metformin encapsulation yield and size distribution, systematic optimization, separately at first, for each response and then simultaneously for the two responses was carried out using the central composite design, consisting of 27 experiments. The method of analysis was carried out in a similar manner as in several previous reports [61–69]. The metformin encapsulation yield obtained by complex coacervation could be represented in the form of a polynomial second degree equation relating to the defined experimental field and implying the four studied factors.
