Drake loves basketball, this we know. Basketball also loves him back, kind of, to the point that when he became a meme by lint-rolling his pants in his courtside seats, the Toronto Raptors actually started making Drake-branded lint rollers. Then there was the time he poured Perrier and got caught off-guard; it was weird and adorable. Now, however, his antics are slightly less cute. At Tuesday's playoff game between the Raptors and the Cleveland Cavaliers, Drake got into it with Cavs player Kendrick Perkins during halftime and at the end of the game. According to a writer for the Toronto Star, Drake called Kendrick a "fucking pussy," and in a video, Drake can be heard saying, "I never said that shit."
According to ESPN, the NBA has since issued a warning to Drake over "the use of bad language" during his interactions with players. Drake is a regular presence at Raptors games, and the team occasionally hosts Drake-themed nights at their home stadium, the Air Canada Centre.
Asked about the warning to Drake, Kendrick deflected attention back to the matter at hand — basketball. "At the end of the day, it isn't about Perk versus Drake; that doesn't even sound right," he said. "It's the Cleveland Cavaliers versus the Toronto Raptors. Besides, what could he possibly do to me? I mean, really. If he leaves me alone, I'll leave him alone, and that's all there is."
