This is the first stage of logo design for Mimi Chocolatier, a new chocolate shop in LA. The client wanted to integrate a butterfly in the logo, but make it minimal and contemporary. At first I thought this would be a challenge, but at the end I believe I succeeded in combining those two ideas successfully.

I decided to experiment a little bit more and take advantage of the fact that the name Mimi is basically Mi^2. With the use of organic shapes and some colour combinations, I tried to connect it with the concept of chocolate.
Below I experimented a bit more with colour combinations and placement of the tagline.
The example below is in my opinion the most successful one because it combines both the direction from the client and my personal style. I managed to include the concept of the butterfly and a minimal, contemporary typeface.
