A two year old's birthday is intended to be a day of wholesome fun.

After all, you're celebrating the life of a child.

And one mum thought she'd planned the perfect party for her little one.

That is, until she spotted something odd about the birthday cake.

The mother had ordered a striking bright pink cake, topped with the word 'two' written in sparkly blue lettering.

From the front it was a lovely cake.

However when she turned it around, all wasn't quite as it seemed.

The cake looked perfect from the front

For the cake topper appeared to spell out a profanity when viewed from the behind.

Posting photos of the cake on social media, she captured the images with: "Make sure the back of this cake is facing the wall!"

She added: "I guess it depends on how your kid has been behaving that day as to which side you face it."

The rude word spelt on the cake was the c-word.

Other parents couldn't help but find the mishap funny.

But not all was as it seemed at the back

One mum commented: "OMG where can I get this topper? My son turns two next month and this is perfect."

Another wrote: "PERFECT... Two year olds can be c****."

A third added: "Nice to keep your options open. Haha."

However it seems you just can't win when it comes to cakes.

One other mum found this out the hard way after sharing snaps of her incredible animal cakes online.

Baker Hannah Edwards makes very realistic looking cakes and often posts videos of her cutting into the sweet treats.

The mum couldn't believe it

However it seems her work has proved too life-like for some as she's been sent heaps of abuse and even been reported to Facebook - for animal cruelty.

Hannah, who describes herself as an animal lover, has had to deal with comments such as: "THIS IS DISGUSTING!!!! What's wrong with people - how can you cut and eat a cake that looks like a real animal, eyes, face, heart, ribs?!? Barbaric. STUPID."

In response to the backlash, she said: "I find it surprising that so many people have such a negative reaction to a cake being cut up.

"I've seen the odd one or two comments before over the last five years that have been awkward but this is something else. The level of aggression in these comments is madness.

"I guess the bit I find most ironic is that most of these people outraged do eat real meat on a daily basis, and yet they cannot stomach the idea of a cake version of an animal being cut up."
