Runny noses, untied shoes, bandaids, sticky fingers, tears, and giggles…they made me smile and I drew them. Favorite things: kids, green tea, family, Saturday morning cartoons, God, teaching, thrift stores, drawing! I launched Karen’s Kids Studio in 1986 with 10 sets of clipart. Within 1 year it grew into hundreds of products, clipart sets, and teaching resources. Hiring employees permitted me to continue to teach for a few more years. Today I miss the classroom but I love illustrating, and creating new products and images for use in classrooms, homes, and organizations around the world. Karen’s Kids' motto is “Sharing, caring and working together, helping to make the world a better place”. This is the goal I encouraged my students to achieve and the message my company strives to model. Years ago a customer wrote me a note that included this message, "...a little of everyone's kids are a part of Karen's Kids...". I LOVED THAT NOTE because Karen's Kids are the kids in my classroom, my kids, and kids in neighborhoods around the world. There are eight main Karen's Kids characters and tons of their friends.
