Tweaking Current Instructional Practices to Meet the New Science MLEs Grades 6-8 - Day 1
In this three-day series, teachers will gain a deeper understanding of our new science MLEs, analyze important DESE resources to support instruction and practice writing new assessment items to meet the rigor of our new state
assessment. You must register for each day separately. Participants registering for all three days will receive the discounted fee of $60 per session.
Day 1: June 18
* Gain a deeper understanding of the 8 practices and 7 cross-cutting concepts found within our new science MLEs
* Deconstruct the Science MLEs for deep understanding of its skills and knowledge
* Align new MLEs to current units of study
Day 2: June 19
* Analyze the Item Specifications for deep instruction application
* Analyze the new Science Practice test for instructional and assessment purposes
Day 3: June 20
* Write new assessment items for current unit of study
* Critique new assessment items
Lunch on your own
Optional 1 hour of graduate credit available if you attend 2 or more days.
