Additional money now available for Bremerton’s rental assistance program

BREMERTON — Additional money for the Bremerton COVID-19 Rental Assistance Program has been made available, said Bremerton Mayor Greg Wheeler in a press release Tuesday.

An additional $268,383 from the CARES Act Federal Stimulus package was added to the city’s coffers in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and the council approved making the funds available for the rental assistance program last month.

“This new funding for rental assistance will continue to offer critical support for Bremertonians who are facing economic hardship due to the impacts of COVID-19,” Wheeler said.

This money is in addition to the $100,000 each provided by the city and the Bremerton Housing Authority.
