Agate's secret base... Specifically, the newly added furniture, the mini zen garden... Agate is crossing his legs on one of the biggest rock there, and is meditating. As much as he wanted to meditate under a waterfall, there are no waterfall around here... and even if there is... Agate wondered how different it will be compared to waterfalls on area less... volcanic-y. Either way, the zen garden is perfect for him to sense his surrounding. Here on the outside of his secret base, the Pokemons are frolicking about. He tried to sense their aura...
The blue one on the farthest one, but slightly fading... that's Azalea, he think. Ghost dominant Pokemon such as Durandal, there's no aura the slightest, which makes them a little bit more dangerous for Agate to detect with eyes closed... Granted, he could use his other senses, such as hearing or smelling to sense them further but... Anat told him that he should focus on his sight alone. Yes, today's training is to further boost his aura sight to its next level, which is to see aura through eyes closed. It's... really hard. He only can see faint colors through the darkness. It's like someone holding light in front of him through closed eyelids...
Among the Pokemons with the strongest aura, there are two... Riku, with his deep blue exterior and red interior. He could sense that aura the easiest considering how often Riku hangs out around him. As for the second one... Anat with steely silver and deep blue inside. Her aura is more imposing than Riku's, yet with an undeniable feeling that it's also gentle at the same time. The difference between Potential Aura User and Actual Aura User is sort of different, Agate understands this now.
An actual Aura User would have a really strong aura. Their Aura is very prominent, and perhaps in turn their body is more... filled with vitality? There are also difference in how they carry themselves. By moving his hand in front of his eyes while his eyes are closed like this, he could roughly guess that his aura is stronger compared the first time he able to use it. Anat's training is working, and he should be able to meet those travelling Pokemons sooner or later...
...Speaking of which, Anat gave him a sign now about differences of effect of Aura... She ordered him to open his eyes and she showed what it looked like when she's ready for battle. Her aura flared, as if it's ready to be explosively used. After about three minutes holding that state, she calmed herself down and her aura followed suit. Agate noticed there's a shift in how her aura looked as she calmed herself down... it's softer, as if looking at calming horizon of water. She's trying to use her Life Dew, he finally noticed. Her aura becomes much more gentler, as if it was a flowing water... That's the difference between the usage of aura it seems.
With that in mind... He tried to sense the difference of his own aura too. He opened his eyes for this one, trying to see the difference for himself. In his normal state of mind, he could see that his aura is simply floating, airy, perhaps... and it's not at all special. It's just... the normal state, with floaty, airy feeling to it. It's calm, but it's not particularly calming. He guess his normal state of mind simply focused on "making everyone happy." Perhaps this was the result from that.
...Next, he tried to imagine a moment in his life where his anger peaked. Was it something that happened to him or his sister? ...If he recalls it right, there was a moment where his sister was being treated badly for swaying too much. Her leg was quite bad. It's bad until now, but they called her something along the line of 'the blond haired scarecrow'... That anger quickly peaked. He saw his aura crackled with such intensity that it looked spiky. The blue no longer looked like clear summer sky, but instead like an omen of storm. Even the gold of his aura looked dangerous...
...Ah, so this is what intimidation is like.
Riku immediately tapped his shoulder. Whew, that was close... Very close. Anat is teaching him the effect of aura and Riku is the one who's watching so that he won't goes overboard... This is good. He was able to return back to normal state of emotions. However, the training did not stop right here. Both Riku and Anat suddenly covered his eyes with blindfold. Eh? Ehhh? What's even going on? The answer was not given, but... Anat clapped her paws, or at least, Agate heard her doing so... he instinctively turned around to face the source of her aura.
Then, he heard another clap, this time from his right. Ah, that one was Riku huh... Only then he noticed that on top of being blindfolded, he's actually also tied up. Eh? Well, his legs are tied up, while his hands are free to move... what the heck!?
"Riku, Anat, what's the meaning of this!?"
None of the two answered. They instead clapped... Agate looked toward the source of the clap, but he noticed that Anat is slowly moving backward... Eh?
"Um, you're there," he pointed at the general direction of the Lucario. A single clap. That's a yes. There's a subtle difference between Anat's clap (a sharp clap) and Riku's clap (slightly dampened clap). He noticed this... but even so...
"Ummm, you're there, Riku?" he pointed at the direction of the clap. In reply however, two claps could be heard. Huh? What? Wrong? But... but he was there...?
"...Ugh..."
He finally understood what's going on. Anat wanted to expand his aura sight until to the point where he can see outlines of the Pokemons. She wanted him to see beyond normal sight. And as a decoy, she... was that a wooden doll or something? Did she somehow infused her aura to a wooden doll?
Drats. Not only that, she's teaching Riku too on how to infuse his aura to a wooden doll. He's currently just having potential to use aura, but even so, he's still aura using Pokemon nonetheless. Now that they do that, they purposely asked another Pokemons to clap in their stead while they moved around.
"...Kh."
But don't look down on him, Agate thought. As he focused more and more on his sight, he began to see a little bit of blue outlines... it's vague, he can't say that he could see them all that well.. and since his eyes are closed (the blindfold was rather tight to his eyes), he's only limited to the blue outline.
A clap.
"That silhouette is too small to be Riku. That's you, right, Ragnard?"
Sound of a surprised Charmander could be heard. Agate grinned. Heh, score. Another clap. "Hmm, this one is too clacking, this is not Anat's, nor it's Riku's... and that small size... that's you, right, Vorpal?"
Another score it seems, as the Alolan Sandshrew danced in happiness.
Clap...no, that's a chomp? "...Churio, that's was too easy," Agate commented. The Tyrunt snorted, happy that she was identified immediately.
But before he could react to the next clap, suddenly he saw something moving really fast at the corner of his eyes. WHOA! Agate immediately blocked against the source and pulled his blindfold up. The outlines are getting clearer now that he's off his blindfold, but... before he could open his eyes, he felt a foot swept horizontally right in front of his face. Darn, she's telling him to fight blind!? Agate quickly put on a fighting stance.
"...Anat, have anyone told you that your training is rather spartan?" Agate commented. But the Lucario did not answer. Instead, he saw another arm heading his way from the corner of his sight! Agate quickly grabbed the incoming paw and swept low, pulled the arm and applied a judo slam. However, instead of hitting the ground, the figure sprang back to its feet.
"Riku... so this is a FFA?"
Free for all... now that Agate is this close, he noticed that the Riolu has closed his eyes too. "Oh, so that's how it is." To train their aura sight further, the three aura users must close their eyes, and pretty much fight while dodging the attack... with their eyes closed. Agate wasn't perfect at it obviously. His reaction speed is good enough, but compared to Pokemon it was nothing. He knew that the two held back significantly. The trio punched, dodged, kicked, jumped, it's free for all... target does not matter. All that was important was for Agate and Riku to dodge the incoming attacks while using their aura sight... with their eyes closed, that's all. In the end, it was another spartan training. But even so, Agate has advanced enough for Anat to bring him to Aura Master wandering Pokemons.
