A new website from the creators of Instagram shows that the COVID-19 transmission rate in Nevada is the highest in the country.

The website, rt.live, tracks the average number of people who become infected by an infectious person using data from the COVID Tracking Project. This allows the website to calibrate how many coronavirus infections occur from a single infection within a given area.

According to these estimates, Nevada has the highest transmission rate with 1.56 average, meaning that one infected person on average will infect between one and two people.

When the rate average is below one, then cases should go down, though only 14 states plus Washington, D.C. are reporting this average.

The next highest transmission rate is Wyoming with 1.39 average.
