    Story

The Tees Valley is in need of a first class water based international sports arena AND centrally built Community Pool with easy access links for all.

A CIC has been set up by people from a swimming back-ground who truly believe that they can make this happen. The Tees Valley International Aquatic Centre (CIC) has been established by Sue Campion and Jackie Dixon-Daley who have essential knowledge in building the business case for such an arena. Firstly, TVIAC needs to raise £10,000 to procure a Feasibility Study to demonstrate commercial viability of such a scheme. Discussions have already been held with sporting consultants and architects and the initial discussions are very promising. The TVIAC needs to back this up with hard figures from the Study to enable the next phase of discussions with potential key stakeholders to take place.

The delivery of such a scheme will have a significant impact the Tees Valley and the surrounding areas - not just people who are interested in water-based sports, but also businesses associated with tourism and leisure: hotels, eateries and retail.

The vision is to have :

    1) an international arena which will host regional, national and international events bringing much needed benefits to the local economy.

    2) to have a Community based pool to support all water based sports from ‘Learn to Swim’ schemes to ‘Elite’ athletes; water polo; diving; synchronised swimming; scuba; canoeing; life guarding and triathletes; and would allow public swimming for all denominations. It will help retain our elite athletes and coaches who are leaving the area to find more suitable facilities elsewhere.

We would love for you to support our vision and donate to this Fundraising page and thank you for reading our story
