Foreign Ministry considering organization of additional flights to bring citizens from Russia 

Approximately 300 Uzbek citizens have gathered near the Mashtakovo checkpoint on the Russian-Kazakh border.

According to Uzbek diplomatic missions and consulates in Russia and Kazakhstan, Approximately 300 Uzbek citizens have gathered near the Mashtakovo checkpoint on the Russian-Kazakh border.

Foreign Ministry reports that the issue is being monitored by the embassies of the country in Moscow and Nur-Sultan, consulates general in Kazan and Aktau, and that it conducts negotiations with the competent authorities of Russia and Kazakhstan.

The Operational Staff of the MFA sent information on the situation to the Special Republican Commission for a comprehensive review. The commission will provide special information on its decision.

It should be noted that since May 25, 8 charter flights have already been organized from different cities of Russia. Currently, the Special Republican Commission is considering the organization of additional charter flights to bring our compatriots from different regions of Russia.

“In this regard, we recommend our citizens in Russia not to go to the checkpoint Mashtakovo or other checkpoints on the Russian-Kazakh border, but to stay where they are and strictly follow all quarantine requirements. We are working on organizing charter flights from different regions of Russia,” the statement reads.
