Why stay here ...

Situated in the Perth and Kinross area of Scotland, the village of Powmill lies adjacent to the Ochil mountain range and on the border of Fife, Clackmannanshire and Kinross-shire.

The site itself offers five all-season hardstanding all with electrical hook ups. These hardstandings are suitable for Motorhomes and Caravans up to 8 meters (including drawbar). We cannot currently accommodate larger twin axel units. Three of the pitches are large enough to allow for car, caravan and awning. Easy access from the A977 with a waiting area completely off the roadway. It's a small private site suitable for adults who enjoy relaxation and the outdoors. When you arrive you will be met by either David or Karen and we'll likely be accompanied by our West Highland Terrier named Kip. We have our own chickens and subject to availability free range eggs will be for sale in the site hut. The site is alive with an abundance of wild birds so feel free to set up your feeders. We're dog friendly and a farm lane runs alongside the site leading to a small woodland suitable for dog walking. A dog waste bin is situated at the lane end. Grey and black waste disposal points are available and a central fresh water tap. A toilet, basin and shower is available for customer use.

The site enjoys wonderful scenic views of the hills and surrounding countryside both to the North and South. The immediate area offers great walks, cycle routes and the Milk Bar Restaurant is directly adjacent to the site.

Powmill CL is centrally located allowing easy access to Stirling, Dunfermline, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Perth, Falkirk etc. The Knockhill Racing Circuit is only 4 miles away. Fife is also within easy reach for a day trip, St Andrews is about a 40 minute drive. Gleneagles is a 15 minute drive.

There are plenty of local restaurants and country pubs all within easy reach of which details can be provided if required.

Nearby sightseeing include The Wallace Monument, Stirling Castle, The Kelpies, Knockhill, Scone Palace, Japanese Gardens, Dunfermline Park and Cathedral, Loch Leven c/w its 12.5 mile heritage trail, Falkland Palace, Gleneagles Golf Course and many more.

The local shop is within walking distance and offers a good range of essentials. The famous and excellent Milk Bar Restaurant is a minute's walk away and is open from 08:30 to 17:00 offering breakfast, fantastic cakes, award winning ice cream, milkshakes, meals and a newly opened pizza shack. There is also an antiques centre within the village. The nearest pub is 2 miles away in village of The Crook of Devon and is walkable with a footpath all the way. It's a highly interesting country pub offering great simple food and is well worth the walk.

Good overnight stop

Powmill
We made an overnight stop at Powmill. It is a very well set up and well kept CL with a nice toilet/shower facility. There is also a lovely little dog walk in the grounds which is also well maintained by the owner. It is all hard standing and ideal for motorhomers although the pitches might be a little tight for a longer stay with, say, a large caravan and awning.

Great site

Powmill
Great site in a smashing area, the shower and toilet block is very good. We enjoyed breakfast in the milk bar a couple of mornings and it is excellent. David the owner is an A1 guy. Wish we lived closer we would definitely use the site regularly. All the best for the future. Regards Phil & Cynth Barker.

Not so quiet

Powmill
This is a well maintained site in a pleasant location. The down side is traffic noise with quite a busy road near the site entrance and a track running at the rear of the of the pitches which seems to have an unreasonable amount of fast traffic. The other downside is not the increase in site fees, but being told that if you use more electricity than the site owner thinks you should you will be charged more at the end of your stay.

All a CL should be.

Powmill
Very easy to get to and easy access, keep your speed down or like me you might miss the entrance. Friendly welcome from David the owner and a wee bit of banter. The views out front of the Ochils is brilliant. With only the 5 units on site there was never any problem accessing the toilet/shower facilities. Shower is a £1 via the honesty box. Just across the road is the famous milk bar and it's true what they say about the coffee and cake. There is a wee bit of road noise from the main road but this did not disturb us. A walk along the Rumbling Bridge gorge is a must. Next time I hope the pub is open. Thank you David for this CL, we will be back and hopefully soon.

Weekend escape

Powmill
We found this great little site by chance and enjoyed a 2 night stay in November 2020. Pitches were perfect for our campervan and a central location for exploring the area. Not that we travelled far to reach Powmill only 10 miles but travel restrictions changed our original plans. Visited Kinross and Cupar, breakfast in the Powmill milk bar then a lovely fresh pizza for dinner. Our welcome to the site was perfect, fresh eggs available, excellent facilities and a lovely view. Plenty walks for the dogs so all in all a great weekend. Thanks we will be back soon.
