This is the third movement of Johann Sebastian Bach’s French Suite no. 5 in G major, played on piano. It is a ‘Sarabande’: The Sarabande is an old Mexican dance that often occurs in Baroque suites. In the Baroque era, it is a slow court dance, written in a three-part time signature, usually a 3/2 time, with a slightly emphasized second beat. It is here performed as authentic as possible (with ornaments and repetitions).
