Toronto, Canada – GAO RFID Inc. (www.GAORFID.com) is offering its USB Enabled HF RFID Reader/Writer which is designed for desk–top applications and is available in both HF and LF RFID frequencies. Common uses for the USB RFID reader are verification and programming of RFID tags and labels, personnel identification and access control to computers or terminals, Point–of–Sales (POS) applications or use with similar data entry instruments and many other applications such as supply chain, retail, or logistics.

This USB enabled RFID reader/writer, model 223015, allows for a read/write distance of up to 7 cm depending on the type and size of tags. It is compatible with the following transponder protocols: ISO 156931-class unique number, 1-Code™, 1-Code SLI, my-D, my-D secure, ISO 14443A, Mifare®, ISO 14443B unique number for the HF version and HID®, proxEntry®, HITAG2, EM4002/4102 for LF.

The easy-to-use, plug and play, mouse-shaped RFID reader is encased in plastic and connects to any standard USB port for data transmission and power supply. Simple LED indicators immediately verify the status of RFID transponders that are within its read range of approximately 3 cm. The portable, light–weight unit ships with a 1.5m USB cable and demo software and sample tags that will have the user up and running without delay.

This mouse-sized RFID reader/writer belongs to GAO's family of 13.56 MHz RFID Readers. This line also includes 13.56 MHz RFID HF Bluetooth Reader/Writer, 13.56 MHz Desktop RFID Reader/Writer, 13.56 MHz Mifare DESFire RFID Reader and 13.56 MHz Smart Label RFID Reader.
