Rhiannon is a princess kept in a pretty cage and Xavier is the maids son and her best/only friend.

Okay this isn’t a fairytale but you get the idea. Rhiannon’s father is cruel, evil and powerful she’s kept guarded and controlled at all times. The only time she has any fun at all is when she’s with Xavier but even then the threat of her father is looming.

The book opens when Rhiannon is eight years old and Xavier is ten. We catch-up with them again when she’s twelve, fourteen, seventeen and ... well I don’t want to spoil anything so I’ll keep the rest to myself.

Life is hard for them both but while Rhiannon’s dad obviously hates Xavier at least he goes to school and has a life outside the castle.

But everything changes the year Rhiannon turns seventeen.

This is book about revenge. The story twists and turns, there’s no cliffhanger but there is a HEA so I was more than happy :)

Ok had to ponder this one and decided it needed two stars instead.

Lots of holes lots of missing parts of the story lots of strange hero behavior.

The book started out so well then fell to a jumble of ideas with tons of plot holes and unrealistic happenings.

Missing parts....you would read along and suddenly they went from talking in a store to the next day at breakfast. One chapter was one sentence! We went from going to let her go to we are getting married. I have to scratch my head and say what happened.

The characters...Xavier started out so well then he disappeared and the story fell apart. One minute he was caring and loving the next totally mean. He had no depth and he just felt fake. Then we had to put the popular spanking in and the dominant behavior....

The ending so dumb! Made no sense and there was no way that could have happened. Not possible!

3.25 could’ve-been-more-detailed stars

I was loving so many aspects. But I didn’t care for the quick-scene changes and the plot holes. I found myself scratching my head or rereading scenes to make sure I didn’t miss anything. It could’ve used some angst.

Rhiannon and Xavier have been best friends since they were 8 and 10, respectively. His mom works for her family, which means he’s considered “low class.” I actually liked the chapters when they’re kids. We get chapters of when Rhiannon is 8, 12, 14, then 17 ish before they’re separated. During these years, we see the connection they had, the genuine love and friendship they shared❤️, even the abuse they endured because of her father🥺. I wasn’t too concerned about how fast these chapters moved (I wouldn’t have minded details though).

When she’s 17 she goes to prom, with another guy, but she just keeps thinking about Xavier. He’s always been able to get into her room, and he’s there when she gets home. They share their first kiss and he messes it up by being mean🤬. She tells him to leave and he goes home to find his life has changed. Then he disappears from her life.

Luckily, she enjoys her life. She goes to college, loses her v to a man (she only does it twice) and then it’s 10
years later. (She’s 27 ish and he’s 29 ish).

She’s supposed to get married to another man, but she doesn’t want to. She doesn’t wanna live the mafia/corrupt life. So as she’s running away, Xavier crosses her path and abducts her.

Now. I’m all for abducting the woman you want😈💅. At this point, I was enjoying myself, hoping we got information about why he’s been gone for ten years and what he’s been doing, why he treated her like ish when they kissed. And, in Rhi’s defense, she’s always had affection for Xavier. Sure. He’s been keeping tabs on her for years, but he needed to act quicker. But she’s angry at him for never keeping in touch. But I expected more.

She says she’s going to give him a hard time and then she gives in too easily. Like. Every. Single. Time. This guy left your life for ten years and everything’s okay and fine and dandy?? Nahhh… demand answers girl 👏🏻🙈. Plus, the scenes kept changing, chapters ending quickly, then suddenly we’re somewhere else. The whiplash was real here 😐.

I appreciated his dirty mouth though 🥵🔥. When he ties her up in the kitchen and asks her what do you do in a kitchen (she says cook) and he clarifies that you eat… well, he sure does 😅💦. They finally have smexxx at about 65%. It was 🔥🥵. But also cold since he basically tells her to get dressed after.

And it continuous this way. Short chapters with not too many details. Which means that there were plot holes I wish were filled in. And the climax scene happens, I didn’t see it coming. I felt betrayed. And even when everything is kind of explained to her, it didn’t account for a lot of things.

Listen. I can suspend belief while I’m reading books, but not to the extent that I’m wondering how we went from A to B 🤔or the lack of explanations given to allow things to make sense. Even when she asks Xavier for explanations, he doesn’t always provide them. I didn’t like that.

Many things felt rush. It could’ve been better with some angst 🤷🏻‍♀️.

There were a lot of things I liked, but many things that I wish it had. Even though it’s mafia ish, I don’t consider it dark.

⚠️ safety squad ⚠️
-no cheating/sharing/owd
-abusive father/child abuse
-spanking/spying/loves watching her sleep/tying up
-condoms/then none- she’s on the pill
-h is engaged to OM. She’s never slept with him. H makes sure OM is out of the picture 💅
-there’s a 10 year separation from their first kiss. She lost her v to OM. She’s had sex twice. It’s unclear if the H was a manwhore, but there’s a line that makes me think he might have been celibate? He says he’s been loyal to her (but it could’ve just been about him looking out for her?)

One of the most idiotic, cringeworthy, pathetic books ever written. I have no idea how this book got published or read or rated. The flimsiest, most ridiculous plot line with holes galore. None of the characters or their backstories even made the slightest sense. The whole thing was awful. I was embarrassed at how cringeworthy every line of it was.

According to Wiktionary, a mindf*ck is "something that intentionally destabilizes, confuses or manipulates the mind of another person." So "Taken" by Logan Chance was just that and also an awesome romantic suspense!

This is my first read by Logan Chance but not my last. This author's writing style was so refreshing and the way he weaved his tale in such a clever and vivid storyline with unsuspecting twists and turns, drama, revenge tactics and the romance between the H/h, Rhiannon and Xavier was off the charts! I'm thinking the men write about sex is more organic but dirtier- well the way they describes their thoughts on it... anyhow! This man can write!

I enjoyed Xavier from age 10 - 29 but when he walked back into Rhiannon's life after almost a ten year absence, he was really on a mission which that alone was a shock with whiplash proportions! Rhiannon didn't know whether to be sad or happy to see her long-lost bff but he was cold and not the same Xavier she remembered.... because his mission was REVENGE against Rhi's cruel father... but no more spoilers from me but... Rhi's air quote 'daddy' sure was a piece of nothing who didn't want to see anyone happy besides himself. But payback sure will be a bi*ch for him when he drops that soap in the shower... in prison! lol - hee-hee-hee!!!!

This was a great book to introduce me to a new ROMCOM male author with charming wit and double-take sarcasm which equals clever writing to me. I look forward to reading more of Logan Chance's works in the near future.

Check him out! I read the book twice back to back to make sure I didn't miss anything! This author is MEMORABLE!

Team Logan Chance! Well I won't even bother to put my review on Amazon because they won't let the word 'mindf*uck' enter their review zone so here it will remain... hopefully!

5 mindf*cking stars ! *****

This book is a perfect example of why Logan Chance is one of my favorite one-click authors. Taken is the explosive story of mafia princess Rhiannon DeLaurio and the maid’s son Xavier Stone. These two share a past that neither can quite forget. The chemistry between Xavier and Rhiannon was explosive. Taken had everything I love in a good romance – strong characters, a little mystery, just the right amount of angst and steamy sex. Their story kept me flipping page after page waiting to see what happened to these two. Could these two friends find the life they could only dream of or is it all the ultimate revenge? You’ll have to read to find out.

Nothing sucks me in like a second chance romance with a good dose of suspense.
This was good! Really enjoyed the writing and the plot.. however, from completely pushing the heroine away (and saying they can never be together) the hero does a complete 360 at the end. It feels as if i lost a whole chapter. Great potential, looking forward to reading more of this author's books.

This was a very good read this was one of those books that started off with a lot of backstory that I really liked it started slow and heat up. What would you do if you were kidnapped by someone you grew up with and have secretly loved? Rhiannon DeLaurio grew up a mafia princess her father Al is a mob boss. Xavier Stone grew up with Rhiannon his mother Hannah was the maid. This was a really good read this book it had a few twist in it that I didn't see coming. Xavier who is tall dark and handsome and smart he kisses Rhiannon after the death of his mother, he leaves her stuck with a father who has planned her whole life and a mother who drank all day long. Ten years later Xavier is rich and Rhiannon is trying to escape her father and the future husband that he picked out Ian when Xavier comes back into her life. Rhiannon does her best to escape because she doesn't want to be returned to her father or Ian, but Xavier has revenge on his mind although he wants her. The sex scenes in this book were hot and Xavier is a dirty boy. I was also shocked to learn who was really helping Xavier and why. I did not see that wedding scene coming. This was a really good read I have a few books written by this author and I can't believe that this is the first time reading him. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading the book about Dean Xavier's best friend and his assistant Krista the bonus story about them was hot as hell.

Well I thought Logan's last book he wrote was his best until now. I enjoyed all of his books but this one just had a whole new element and intensity to it. Taken is full of mystery, double crossing, very intense, very steamy scenes that might melt your tablet. There is so much that I could say bit I don't want to give anything away. Taken by Logan Chance, is a non-stop roller coaster of mixed emotions, entertainment and a whole lot of sexiness.

Meet Xavier and Rhiannon, they are an extremely addictive pair; with the right amount of explosive chemistry. That’s how Logan Chance writes his stories from the moment you open up to the first page to the very last page it’s nothing but dynamite. He has the power to create scenes that will transport you into another world; isn’t that why we all read, to be transported into another world other than our own?

I’ve been unfamiliar with mafia romance, which made me a mafia romance virgin. 3 hrs and 13mins later, I was proud to say, I pooped my cherry and was no longer a mafia romance virgin anymore. After every page turned this book seemed to get hotter and hotter. At one point my eyebrows fairly singed off my face but it didn’t matter, I just couldn’t stop reading and wanted more when it was over.

One thing I've always been drawn to is other people’s darkness, strangeness, sadness, and vulnerabilities, which is why I think this book was so intriguing. Rhiannon is often offended by Xavier’s rudeness and his egotistical ways, but it’s her deep feelings that are masked by her carnal urges that helps her to not be afraid of him. Xavier is aggressive at times, but can be the ultimate force in Rhiannon’s eyes. Strong, confident, capable, proud and respectful. These two are attracted to each other like magnets, and there can be an obsessive and addicting quality to their attraction. Xavier and Rhiannon’s explosive attraction for one another is undeniable, not just physically but mentally as well. They’re magnetically tied to one another, even though their relationship can switch back and forth between hate and love, it’s their bond they’ve had since childhood that keeps them together and why they keep going back for more.

It’s not just Logan’s writing style that’s intriguing to me. It’s the emotional dynamics between his characters that’s intriguing. He has a unique ability to write the stories that he does. He knows how to affect all his readers with his written words. Logan Chance not only entertains us with the sexy and humorous parts but there is an important meaning behind his stories as well.

Hopefully, this review has helped you to make that final decision and you just can’t wait to read it now. When you’re done reading Taken and if you’re not hot and bothered while reading this book, chances are you may need your eyes checked. I know for me, I look forward to reading more books by Logan Chance and so will you if you look beyond the words he writes. You’ll be amazed at what you will see and what I’ve seen from the very first book he wrote. So, if you are still reading this, then thank you and please go now and check this book out. I swear you won’t be disappointed.

4 Vengegul CROWNS

Taken by Logan chance is filled with secrets, deceit, corruption. It is a story that leaves readers trying to figure out what the hero is really up to and turning the pages until they find out.

Readers meet two different sides of Xavier. They fall in love with the kid and the teen who is mischievous and good. When he resurfaces later, he is much colder and stolid. The memories of him in his youth is enough to keep readers connected to his character, as well as the mystery that surrounds his character. Just like Rhiannon, readers want to know where he has been, what is behind his evolution, and what his plans for her are. Although his motivations are cloaked for most of the story, when all is revealed, readers will be more than happy with this hero.

Rhiannon is a heroine I struggle with. There are many attempts made for her to be strong, but she ultimately backs down a lot to her father, to Ian, and even Xavier. The moments when she attempts to take control or, even if it is done in secret, chases her dream are my favorite. Readers who love a strong heroine will connect to these moments, but will wish that we got more of them throughout the novel.

Logan Chance certainly starts the story off with a bang, immediately drawing readers into the story. He then takes the readers back to the past when Rhi and Xavier are children. By introducing readers to these characters when they are young, he establishes a friendship, one that exemplifies how they care for each other and love one another. It also establishes a pattern with Rhiannon’s father interfering with her life. This pattern establishes the relationships that are continued throughout the story. When Xavier returns he is shrouded in mystery but has an air of authority that leaves readers wondering where he has been. The chemistry between them is intense, and the push and pull of captor and captive will have readers engaged with the story. The climax and falling action or the story shocked me, and I can honestly say that I didn’t see it coming at all. It is shocking and yet very pleasing to see Xavier’s plan play out successfully.

Taken by Logan Chance has been my first novel from this author. The story is written well, the hero delectable, and readers will find themselves intrigued by the Xavier and his plan for revenge.

ARC received in exchange for an honest review.

First book by Logan Chance.
Definitely wont be my last one.

Taken was so freaking good. It's like the ultimate revenge turned into a sexy romance story. God damn, I loved everything about it. It's a dual POV from Rhiannon and Xavier who were best friends when they were kids but then of course life got in the way and changed their course.

Now what is the ultimate revenge? Well for Xavier it's basically kidnapping the girl of his dreams Rhiannon from her dad. For me, I don't think I'd ever be able to come up with this type of revenge - just not that committed to revenge I guess. I'm more like.. I could egg your house or car kind of thinking. Not kidnapping.

Besides kidnapping, this book has really good twists, turns, drama, and of course romance. Hot smutty romance. As soon as Xavier and Rhiannon are together, aka he walks back into her life after walking away ten years ago, I was so freaking happy. Their relationship when they were kids was simply adorable. So, of course, I started shipping them from that moment (which is kind of weird since she was 8 and he was 10).

Going back to the revenge, god did her dad deserve everything that was happening. He was so cruel and the ultimate douche bag. He only cared about his happiness which pissed me off so much. I was so happy with the ending - or should I say his ending? It wasn't happy for him but it sure did make me laugh like a crazy person.

Besides all of that, Xavier and Rhiannon were swoon worthy. I loved everything about them. Both characters were beyond clever. They had crazy ass chemistry. Freaking lovable. Oh, and they didn't annoy the shit out of me.

I can't wait to dive into another book of his. If it's on Kindle, free, and available for me to read: I'm in. So freaking in.

Wow what can I say about this absolute roller coaster ride of emotions. Xavier stole my heart and I’m pretty sure he isn’t going to be replaces anytime soon. Rhiannon is a spitfire and I love how sassy she was and how she literally couldn’t contain her feelings for Xavier. I’ve been reading Logan’s books from the start and each time they get better and better and this time he has truly outdone himself. The way this book twists and turns and keeps you on the edge of your seat makes this a must read!!!!

I'm not going to tell you anything that happens in this book bc it's one of those you need to experience as you go. I will tell you that you will go through the emotions, never knowing what to expect next. A definite roller coaster ride. Just when you think you have something figured out you realize you didn't have a clue. I loved the characters in this book, including some of the side characters. Their stories just kidnap you and keep you held captive all the way until the last word. Another phenomenal job by Logan with this one.

5 Stars to Taken by Logan Chance.

I did NOT see that coming! What an amazing book! This book was engaging, intense, sexy, hot and thrilling all at the same time. All the feels and then some. God, my emotions were all over the place. If you are a member of Logan Chance's reading group on FB then you have been teased about this book often. From the minute Logan introduced us to Rhiannon and Xavier I was intrigued and not a little anxious to read their story. I have read all of the author's books so I know he is talented with surprises. Again I'll say it...I didn't see it coming.

During this whole book we are slowly introduced to the dynamic that is Xavier and Rhiannon. Their relationship started in early childhood. Very early. They were best friends and loyal to each other. As they grew into their teenage years their relationship dynamic grew and changed as well.

Throughout the first chapters of the book we are taken back in time to watch Xavier and Rhiannon's relationship. During those early years, and later ones, you will experience angst and tension as well as suspense. Logan Chance kept me guessing what was going on. I tried hard to figure out the plot. I really did. Each time I thought I was close.....back to the drawing board. I want to say so much more but it's too difficult to do that without spoiling things for you. I will say that the ending nearly caused me to lose it! This book was amazing and I am so happy I got to read it. You will love the fast paced flow of words to pages. I read this book in one uninterrupted sitting and hated when it was over. I also want to mention how talented this author is with storytelling. What an imagination he has. I know I keep saying this but each book is better than the last. That is what keeps this author on my #oneclick list.

This in my honest and unbiased review. Thank you for taking the time to read it.

I've read several books by Logan Chance and I have to say, in my opinion, this is his best work yet. This book has everything within it's pages from the innocense of childhood best friends, to the angst of teenage attraction, the brutality of heartbreak, the lies, the lust, the pain, the fear, the passion, the betrayal, the truth, the vendication. Everyone of those within these pages and all happening in the lives of Rhiannon and Xavier. Best of friends since childhood torn apart by tragedy. Apart for 10 years, the two come back together is a most unusual way. He kidnaps her.

This story is extremely well written and will grab your attention and not release it until you have gone careening down the twisting and turning path that Xavier has laid out towards the vengence that he seeks.

The characters are amazingly well written and Xavier is quite complex in his adulthood. Strong as a child, stronger as a teen, undaunted as a man. He has come into his own, worked hard to become the success that he is weilding the power that he has obtained and holds onto the anger for the one man who not only changed the path of his life, but also kept the beautiful Rhiannon a prisoner in her own home, in her own life. Beautiful, sweet Rhi, his one and only. Her talent for making handmade greeting cards is what she hopes to be her ticket away from the monster that she knows as her father. She longs to leave the fortress that is her home, to be free and live her life the way she has always dreamed of.

This book is absolutely amazing and I cannot recommend it highly enough! A must read!

Taken got my attention starting from the prologue and held it all the way to the end.
Mr. Chance did an outstanding job with the way he let the reader get to know the characters of Rhiannon and Xavier. I liked watching them grow up and seeing how their friendship blossomed and grew.
Rhiannon was such a strong, feisty young lady. Even with her upbringing and her hard father she was also sweet and innocent in a naive way and ahe had a great sense of humor.
Xavier was always Rhi’s protector and best friend. Until one day he just disappears.
Returning unexpectedly as a grown man. He’s not the light hearted happy go lucky young boy he used to be.
I loved both these characters.
Rhiannon is a ray of sunshine and a promise of rainbows.
Xavier even with his hardened heart still had me head over heels for him.
The story and plot of this book is so fan-freaking- tastic!!
It’s unique and original. Absolutely no way to guess how the story is going to go or in which direction it will take. The twists and turns along the way are outstanding.
The writing is brilliant!
The descriptions the author uses of what Xavier and especially Rhiannon’s feelings are touching and pulled at my heart. The analogies and the words to describe places and situations are stunning and perfect.
Taken is packed with drama, mystery, suspense, tender moments and sexiness.
It’s not lacking for anything.
Outstanding Book!

I was definitely "Taken" with this one!!!

By Teresa's Tantalizing Teasers on January 27, 2018

This was my first all-nighter read of 2018. Honestly, I didn't even get up and go to the bathroom.
I did however, flip my Kindle pages feverishly as I got wrapped up in the not-so-dark Mafia world of Xavier and Rhiannon.

A youthful friendship formed under the criminal, watchful eyes of Rhiannon's father leads to Xavier, the maid's son, becoming
Rhiannon's only trusted friend in life.

Their friendship and their secret desires of wanting each other are tested when her father decides she's going to marry someone in his Mafia ties and then commits a terrible crime against Xavier's family.

Xavier leaves Rhiannon and his past, but only to build his own secret empire and secretly watch her every move.

Revenge is the fuel that has sparked Xavier to build an empire and plot to kidnap Rhiannon to get back at her father.

What really sparks is the intense sexual chemistry between the two captive hearts that were once best friends.

Overall, I was "Taken" into this story from chapter one! It's not a hardcore Mafia storyline, but the creative twist and turns for the two main characters and the sexual pull had me cheering for them both till the end.

I've read a few of Logan Chance's books and I believe this was my favorite standalone thus far.

Basically, go one click this book, grab a bottle of bubbly and enjoy.... That's what I did!

Under the chestnut tree
A girl and a boy; she's from a mafia family and he's from a single mom. They forge a forever bond that cannot be broken. But evil and lies separate them, until vengeance is served.

Rhiannon was Xavier's best friend. They did everything together, well whatever she could hide from her father since he kept her on a short leash. And as they got older, those feelings became more. But when her father commits an unforgivable murder, Xavier flees.

Now, years later Rhiannon has made a life for herself. Only a few months to go to finish her college degree, but her father ruins that to. He is marrying her off to a man with connections, a man she cannot stand. Just as Rhiannon is about to run to escape her inevitable future, she is Taken; her captor...Xavier Stone.

This story captures everything that makes a great story. Young love, a second chance at forever, sweet and swoon-worthy moments, as well as the dark and dirty. There were quite a few surprises that I did not see coming and I loved it. Once you start, you won't put it down.

This is a great second chance romance. Xavier and Rhiannon grew up knowing each other - Rhiannon was the "princess in the tower", and Xavier was the son of the maid. He promised that they would have their own castle together one day. He was her only friend, but events happened when they were in high school and Xavier goes away, leaving Rhiannon behind. After Xavier is gone, Rhiannon finally opens her eyes and sees what has been going on around her and she starts to rebel. But her father has her life all plotted out for her.

Ten years later - Xavier takes Rhiannon away. What are his motives? Is it all about revenge against her father, or does he love Rhiannon and want to be with her? Will she focus on who she knew in the past, or learn to accept the man that he has become?

Logan has really outdone himself. This is darker than his previous stories, but you would never know it. He always has a great flow with the story, and makes you truly care about what happens to the main characters. Pick this book up! You won't be disappointed!

If you are looking for a quick Mafia read, with some unseen twists along the way then this is a good choice to on click. Logan Chance has written a really good suspense romance here and it's definitely worth a read.

Xavier and Rhiannon grow up together at her cruel father's estate, but Rhi is the captive daughter and Xavier the servant's son, who she is best friends with and who her father hates. The story sees them growing up together and I became quite invested in their journey, wondering where it was taking them. They meet later when he kidnaps her, a twist in the story and from there it takes some very unexpected turns.

The two main characters of Xavier and Rhi are likeable and engaging, I loved her feistiness, even when she is unsure of what's going on with the boy she once knew. Xavier is complicated and closed off, but I did like him.

If you are looking for a quick read with some hot sex and a thrilling finish then this is one you should read.

Logan Chance will always be one of my Auto Click Authors, and you only have to read his latest Book Taken to understand why.

This book was much a much anticipated read, what I got was so much more than I imagined. Taken has just shot to my most favourite read of Logan’s. This book from the beginning is not what it seems, it is a Mafia Book with a Twist. It is wonderfully detailed the Characters Rhiannon & Xavier have wedged their way into my heart. I’m not going to give anything away except to say you will experience all the feelings with these two.

From the Prologue I Was Intrigued, throughout the book I was Captivated but also addicted to what was next. Let me be clear this book as brilliant as it is will also play with your mind.

Logan this by far is your best work, I never wanted it to end and as soon as it did I wanted to start rereading again.

I highly recommend this book, you will thoroughly enjoy it.

How do you describe perfection? For me, it's simple: one word - Taken. I've been waiting (im)patiently for this release and Logan has not disappointed. He has shown that his talent knows no bounds. This mafia romance follows the lives of Rhiannon and Xavier, two childhood friends with an instant connection and chemistry that is evident throughout. Logan has written an amazing backstory which adds so much value and gives the characters depth and likeability. This hot read takes you on an emotional journey, with twists you will not expect. Congrats Logan and thank you for giving this story life. I look forward to reading it again.

I have to start by saying, I love Logan's writing and have read every one of his stories. I was worried when I saw that this was a mafia romance, not Logan's normal story line and not a type of romance genre I normally read. With that said, I was extremely surprised at how much I loved this story! I really loved the characters, Rhi and Xavier, especially seeing them at different points in their life and the progression of their age. Their relationship and chemistry sets this story above others. Logan did an amazing job with the unexpected twists in this book. And the ending is PERFECT. I highly recommend this book! Loved it! ❤

This was a really good read. It had a little of everything like mafia, suspense, romance and love. I was guessing how it was all going to end the entire time.
