Trump has stopped or has not participated in some of the time-honored musical events that were part of previous administrations. The wonderful Kennedy Center awards that always has tributes to musical and other artistic icons still goes on. You have not nor do I think you will ever see Trump in the box with honorees at the Kennedy Center -- or anywhere, for that matter. I can't even imagine him breaking into song, as President Obama would occasionally do. Jeesh, this guy mouths incorrect words to the National Anthem. There are musicians who have asked Trump to stop using their music at rallies and other events. Those individuals and groups include the following: - Neil Young - R.E.M. - Twisted Sister* - Adele - Elton John - Rolling Stones - Queen - George Harrison's estate - Luciano Pavarotti's estate - Steven Tyler - Prince's estate - Pharrell Williams - Rihanna - Guns 'n Roses Trump is not the only President to have musicians object to the use of their music. However, the reasons the musicians and groups above give for Trump are quite colorful. Check out "The History of Musicians Rejecting Trump" in Vulture. What should he use? I would suggest this: *Dee Snider of Twisted Sister was a contestant on Celebrity Apprentice. He gave permission to Trump to use"We're not Going to Take It." Later he asked him to stop as he did not like Trump's policies.
