Victims First - Domestic Abuse and Criminal Justice System Liaison Worker

Grade and Salary: F, £24,240 to £26,535

Location: Sunderland area, likely Southwick

 

Contract: Fixed term/ Secondment up to 31/3/19

(Secondments will be considered from other criminal and family justice partners and other voluntary sector organisations)

 

As a Domestic Abuse and Criminal Justice System Liaison Worker with Victims First Northumbria you will be responsible for providing support to the police and domestic abuse workers to ensure children and vulnerable adults are safeguarded. You will be tasked with increasing access to domestic abuse support services for victims and their families while also coordinating inventions to support victims ensuring the number of repeat number of domestic abuse decreases.

 

You will work closely with Northumbria Police officers and staff to improve their knowledge and understanding of domestic abuse, whilst also supporting their safety planning for victims.

 

You will be tasked with increasing perpetrator engagement and willingness to be part of behaviour change programmes. Improving engagement with perpetrators of domestic abuse will lead to an increase in early guilty pleas improving victim retention for prosecution.

 

You will be required to maintain information systems allowing officers to access information quickly and efficiently, while also building working relationships with the Police and other external partners.

 

The role will be based at Cobalt Business Park but some evenings and weekend work may also be needed, as required,
