Cedar Creek Battlefield Debt/Loss
Donation protected
The Battle of Cedar Creek Foundation in Middletown, VA is dedicated to the preservation of the 124-acre parcel of hallowed ground known as the 19th Corps Trench Property. The trenches, in an excellent state of preservation, were constructed by Sheridan’s Union 19th Corps prior to the Battle of Cedar Creek and were overrun during the stunning surprise attack launched by Confederate General Early’s army in the early hours of October 19, 1864. This beautiful property, once threatened for development, now highlights walking trails along the trenches through the beautiful forest – which is available for pubic access. The annual Re-enactment of the Battle of Cedar Creek is an additional fundraiser for the Battle of Cedar Creek Foundation to help reduce the debt owed on the 19th Corp Trench Property. Reenactors or Living Historians enjoy sharing their hobby with others for the purposes of education and preservation of American History including the Battle of Cedar Creek. Please consider making a donation of any kind for the preservation and debt reduction of the 19th Corps Trench Property.
