Clothes Swap PartyYears ago a good friend of mine made a very good suggestion for a girl’s get-together; a clothes swap party! She had a lot of clothes that no longer fit or that she no longer loved. She was thinking that her friends may have the same dilemma. Since we are all different sizes, and have different tastes, we may want clothes that others are ready to part with. And how many times have you admired a blouse or pair of jeans that a girlfriend is wearing? Like minds typically become friends and hang out together. Shopping for new clothes can get expensive and perusing ads for the best deals is time consuming.

Home parties have always been popular, particularly for women just starting out. These parties are usually designed to promote a line of home products. Hosting a party typically produces a substantial amount of free products and reduced prices to purchase more. However, for the guests, it can be quite expensive.

Everyone was and still is, very busy and it’s challenging to find the time to hang out with our friends. So, why not kill two birds with one stone and have a clothes swap party? You get to hang out with friends, thin out your closet, and pick up some new (to you), outfits without spending a fortune. The idea is to find a night that works well for you and your friends and set a date and time. Everyone can bring a finger food, what they want to drink, and clothes that they want to get out of their closets. It’s a lot of fun to sift through the piles and try on clothes. At the end of the evening, all the clothes that no one wanted can go to a favorite charity or charities. It’s a great way to reduce, reuse, and recycle, and get in some much needed girl time in the process.
