Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Teach 24 credits per academic year in Japanese language courses at all levels;
  2. Advise undergraduate students;
  3. Participate in departmental and university service;
  4. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
  1. M.A. in Japanese, foreign language pedagogy, or in a related field from a college of university of recognized standing;
  2. High-level proficiency in Japanese and English;
  3. Teaching experience at the college level

Desirable Qualifications
  1. Familiarity with online courses, ACTFL proficiency standards, and pragmatics-oriented approaches to teaching Japanese as a second/foreign language
