Players of the week, Jan. 15-22, by sport as voted by cincinnati.com readers are:

Northern Kentucky boys basketball: Ethan Haynes, Boone County – The senior scored 40 points, including two three-pointers, Jan. 19 in the double overtime victory over Cooper.

Northern Kentucky girls basketball: Zoie Barth, Highlands – She led Highlands with 28 points in a 53-52 overtime win over state-ranked Campbell County Jan. 20.

Ohio boys basketball: Mark Wise, Deer Park – He had 21 points in the 102-57 win over Bethel Jan. 16 and 13 points in the 63-43 win over Reading Jan. 19

Ohio girls basketball: Maggie Kersting, Seven Hills – She scored her 1,000th point in a 54-38 win over CHCA Jan. 20.

Boys bowling: Austin Vanoss, Fairfield - Vanoss had a 404 series in the win against Hamilton and a 456 series in the win against Princeton. Austin averaged 215 for the week and improved his average to 199.7 which is 19th in the GMC.

Girls bowling: Sarah Comello, Turpin – She tossed a school-record 443 series (215, 228) in a Turpin loss to Walnut Hills Jan. 17.

Boys swimming and diving: Jack Bryan, Oak Hills – Bryan won the 200 freestyle and the 100 backstroke with times of 1:50.09 and 59.13 respectively in a loss to Highlands.

Elizabeth Cron of  Oak Hills secured a 4th place diving finish at the Southwest Ohio Swimming and Diving Classic, Jan. 14, 2018.

Girls swimming and diving: Elizabeth Cron, Oak Hills – The diver won the 1-meter diving event against Highlands Jan. 18, a meet in which Highlands won 141-62.

Wrestling: Jackson Hugentobler, Madeira - He won the 132-pound weight class at the Sycamore High School Invitational Wrestling Tournament Jan. 20. There were wrestlers from 18 high schools, and Jackson won all of his matches, several of them by pinning his opponent in the first period.

Hockey: Jacob Hofmeyer, Elder – He had a hat trick Sunday to lead the team to a 6-3 win. He also had two assists this weekend and played great defense as Elder got two league wins.

Archery: Holly Snow, Simon Kenton - The sophomore, a varsity shooter for four years, has an average this season of 294. Holly scored a 293 at the Ryle/Haven Games and a 292 at the Harrison County Archery Tournament. Academically Holly is stellar in the classroom as well as she is on the honor roll.
