With Advice for Bathing, first edition in English, half-title, title within double-rule border, 40 engraved plates, lacking final 4 advertisement ff., B6 & 7 pulling at gutter and becoming loose, A3 recto with single word erased at head, the odd spot but clean generally, bookplate to pastedown, 19th century half morocco, extremities rubbed, [Wing T888], 12mo, for Dan. Brown at the Swan without Temple-Bar; D. Midwinter and T. Leigh at the Rose and Crown, and Robert Knaplock at the Angel, in St. Pauls Church-Yard, 1699.
⁂ Thevenot's hugely popular swimming manual, first published in France in 1696 and famously appreciated by Benjamin Franklin amongst others. Complete copies are scarce at auction.
