Marketplace Simulations Mini-Conference – Best Practices in Learning and Research with Marketplace

Find the full conference program here.

Come experience all that the global Marketplace community has to offer. See the way our simulations are impacting the lives of instructors and students around the world, bringing quality and socially responsive business education at a time when it is most needed.

Join us, and become a part of the Marketplace story—it’s all online!

This two-day conference will blend the best practices of the Marketplace pedagogy, innovative faculty research, and practical game-management into one dynamic and inspiring event.

The conference will feature a diverse mix of faculty and professional innovators from all the business disciplines. Participants will hear the stories of how these exceptional instructors and researchers are using Marketplace Simulations to transform their students’ learning and foster more effective and socially responsive business leaders worldwide.

Interested in conducting pedagogical or scholarly research within the Marketplace ecosystem? We have some excellent case examples to share.

Hear from faculty who have leveraged research into their classroom to catalyze experiential learning and outcomes-focused education. Also hear from researchers that are exploring managerial thought process and business practices with the goal to advance the knowledge and practice of business.

Guests will also benefit from practical solutions for how to maximize student learning through our comprehensive assortment of instructor tools and resources. Our Marketplace Support team will demonstrate how these tools can help you to manage, evaluate, and coach your students in real time.

Guests will learn about the history and impacts of Marketplace around the world from Dr. Ernest Cadotte, Author/Founder of Marketplace Simulations and Professor Emeritus of Innovative Learning at the University of Tennessee. Several of our international distributors will add their stories to the Marketplace history books.

Over thirty years ago, Dr. Cadotte spearheaded a collaboration with a dozen international faculty and content experts to create a robust computer-based simulation that covered the essence of every functional area of business, and the interconnections between them. Thirty years later, Marketplace is proud to have issued over 900,000 licenses in over 60 countries worldwide. We can’t wait for you to hear our unique story, and how the amazing network of Marketplace instructors and professionals continues to impact positive change in business and society today.

You will be free to ask questions and engage in group dialogue with fellow faculty who are also enhancing their online business teaching and research through this powerful practice.

Conference guests can expect to come away with this:

  • Case examples of how faculty just like you are utilizing our simulations to enhance their teaching and develop cutting edge research;
  • Tips, tools, and resources within the simulations to help you manage, measure, and support student learning;
  • Practical coaching strategies that allow your students to “own” their simulation experience; and
  • Great memories and new contacts from the worldwide community of Marketplace instructors and scholars.
