After her own family is brutally murdered, the ballerina assassin seeks revenge. This young female assassin must travel through a haunting and painful past in order to uncover the details she needs to track down and kill the murderers. Moving through the shady underworlds of assassins and criminal gangs, Rooney has nothing left to lose on her journey to justice.
Ballerina is an upcoming action thriller movie set in the world of John Wick. The movie is set between John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum and John Wick: Chapter 4. It is directed by Len Wiseman who is known for the movies Underworld and Total Recall. Ballerina is written by Shay Hatten who has written extensively in the John Wick universe, including John Wick: Chapter 4. It is co-written by Emerald Fennel, known for her work on Promising Young Woman and the TV series, Killing Eve.
Ballerina stars Ana de Armas in the lead role as Rooney, an assassin ballerina. The role was previously played by Unity Phelan in John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum. Ana de Armas is known for her roles in No Time to Die and Blonde. She is joined by Keanu Reeves who stars as John Wick. Lance Reddick and Ian McShane return to their roles as Charon and Winston Scott. Additional cast members include Gabriel Byrne, Catalina Sandino Moreno, Norman Reedus, David Castañeda & Sharon Duncan-Brewster.
