ACTIVITIES IN CHRISTCHURCH.
POUCK IX TOUCH WITH THEM. (By Teleyrapl).—-Special to ''Star.") OHRISTOHCRCH, this day. ; Quite a little flutter is being caused in Chrietchuroh by reports of the foma•tion of a branch of the Ku Klux Klan. Following rumours of the Klan'j activities in Auckland and other northern cities, the "Sun" devoted a sub-leader to the subject, suggesting that the P.P.A. may be behind the movement, but generjally treating the idea in a humorous vein. Next day the editor received a letter intimating that the Klan existel here, and saying: "It is about time newspapers had better an:l editors, men who are not Papists, and men who do not cringe to capitalists for the sake of gain. A little tar and feathers may do some editors good, so watch carefully when you go home in the dark."
To-day further publicity is given the matter by a burlesque description of the Klan'e work here, wihich appears in the
"Sun." The fact remains, however, that the police are aware of the existence of a secret organisation, and the names of the leading personages are bel eyed to be known.
